Get over yourself! No one will ever do it better than Patti but the Rifles rule and I think they did a dam good job of covering an awesome song. Damien is the king.

Hi st65ar. This was a program called Blah Blah Blah hosted by Andrew Denton. For me this performance was life altering, being a headbanger I hated 80's popular music & thought metal was all there was. This turned me onto alternative & was the precursor to grunge. I saw some great music live, all because of this performance.
@Scotty-P Жыл бұрын
No. No. "Grunge" was made up to copy 80's 'Alternative'.
@dalakerdaniel92409 ай бұрын
@@Scotty-P I agree Scotty for me old punk 62 Grunge was a nightmare 'music the world don't need' the rifles are a proper band like many more from Australia The Saints (live at the Roxy Club 77 give it a try) Radio Birdman and fav Cosmic Psychos booked them early 90s and we spent the night at Red Light District in Amsterdam don't remember much of anything 🍻💊🍻

This is king tone. This is a great cover of Patti Smith's tune. Oz has the right clicks, baby. Dig The Urges ("I Gotta Wait").

Of course they're 80's brilliant, but it's amazing how '90's' The Celibate Rifles are!

What? More 70s, nothing 90s about them

I saw them in Denmark at the Roskilde festival and they blew my mind. What a band and they finished the set with a sex pistol cover if I remember correctly. Fuck life was great back then!

You're right, Mickey! I like that song by The Urges, "I Gotta Wait"! It's kicking! Love that psychedelic sound, going on with them! Has that 60's flavor going on! Nice!

Yeah! I really like The Plimsouls! They're rocking that song, "A Million Miles Away"! Has any other artist done that song? Seems like I've heard it done before, by another group. Just wondering.

@Larsbolander Point is that you need a huge garage if you want to let in everyone who wants to come and enjoy what you're doing there. Suppose that's how clubs started :-)

What show was this played on in 98? Recovery? A nice 60's surf/ psycha' take on that 70's moody classic by Patti.
