I'm surprised how clean the sound is coming from the giant speaker on the right side during this storm! And yes, I own the red label Soulo (sand color) myself and have had it in storms with 75 mph (120 km/h) winds 😶🌫️with the 9 mm poles in the Swiss Alps without any problems.

Pitched incorrectly, the two guys into the wind should be staked out first and only (too much to trip over), The clips should all be clipped in from the bottom up to the top and the top guys should be wrapped around the poles. doesn't matter if the transverse pole is first or last, as I understand this question has been put to Hilleberg already and has been questioned on various forums.

Also, the first thing he does - stepping on the peg. Haha.

The soulo comes with the 9mm poles and you can double pole them, mine says in the instructions if it is forecast stormy weather you should double pole them and alternate the snaps on the fly sheet, I have an extra set but never had to use them yet tbh.

For extra stability the top guy ropes should always be wrapped around the pole before being fed through the loop... good demo tho'

Pushing a tent stake with the foot can be an efficient way to drive it in the ground, but wich should be done with care. In that kind of ground, really, there is not much risk of breaking a quality tent peg. However, I generally prefer to use a rock or the heel of a mountaineering boot as a hammer, as it allow a better control of the intensity and direction of the force applied as well as a feedback about what's in the ground.

Also it can damage your shoes.

I think those machines max out at 80-90mph to start with it was around 50mph but that tent will basically take anything you can throw at it tbh

what poles are used to pitch this??... as mine are all gold in colour and 9mm thickness
@r9197611 жыл бұрын
these are the 11mm scandium poles? how do these compare to the standard 9mm by hilleberg? i guess double poling with these is out of the question. but how a single set of these compare with double poles 9mm? which will give more strenght to the tent? standard 9mm double pole or 11mm scandium?

Pegs never go on that easy. But he didnt get in it for some reason. I thought this would be part of the demonstration?

And, do NOT try to put in the tent stakes with your feet!
