Mattenet is tall but Panagiotis is 6'5" and can reach balls that are out of reach for many players. He had great touch for a big man. Panagiotis is probably retired now (2021-02) but he had a long and successful career, staying inside the top 50 for many years, and getting inside the top 20 for a little while.

I didn't see that result coming at all, but I'm so happy. I can't stand Mattenet and I really like Gionis (not so much his playing style, but his persona and attitude.)

Gonis suffered an injury during the match. One can see it whit the careful use of his forehand topspin and smash. But he did a great job. Mattenet is a good player and he sometimes makes the "point of the day". But he will never become a great player and win the big points. He is too passive with his game. For international standards he needs to change his style.

Gionnis also felt strong pain on his right arm,but (as the greek coach adviced him) he did not show his pain to the opponent. Congratulations to our Greek team.
