Zenith Cruzer Airplane - Troubling Wing Skins

The inboard corner wing skins are a difficult skin to fit to the Cruzer wings. I knew that no matter how "nicely" I could install my skins, that there would still be gaps and unevenness which I did not want. So, I decided that I would cover the whole area with a custom made fiberglass fairing.

In addition to the 30mph boost in cruise speed you could slap on a few NOS or Jegs racing stickers and add another 20 horsepower to the engine

I am curious if a "metal shrinker" would have helped shrink your gaps. Granted, it would have buggered up the surface finish, but that could be sanded to remove high spots and filler added. I worked with one making custom doubler for a Cessna beacon decades ago.

I admire the job you did with the fiberglass, good work. Now I am interested if any one has done some metal work to correct the skin to fit. I have no metal experience with the English wheel but I would like to give it a try. The videos on youtube make it is possible. There is more than one way to skin a cat.

Maybe use some 3m tape to hold it in place, instead of screws or rivets? or at least minimize the amount needed.

I bought a harbor Freight English Wheel to go out on trying to learn another trick at 89 to make the puzzle piece fit like magic. Maybe more toys -stretcher-shrinker--mallet-sandbag and a lot of aluminum !?;~)Your fairing is great but I am just different
