Zeon vs Palisades Zoysia Grass

I cut my Zeon twice a week. I fertilise it twice a year and apply the 32123 watering system at about half an inch each watering. It is cut to half an inch. It gets only 3 hours of sun in summer and about 1 hour in winter. It is SO green all year round!

That is a pretty shady lawn. I’m curious if it is under two years okd. I expect it to start thinning if that is the only amount of sunlight you are getting. Try using an app called SunApp to measure your sunlight and identify tree limbs you could trim to achieve three to four hours of blue sky.

We sod with a ton of palisades in fl panhandle and its amazing how little work it needs to be green and healthy. Does great along canals with all the salt in the air.

@mlee9049 palisades is a zoysia variety so it's first to go dormant during the winter and first to come back in spring. Slight browning but still looks like a great yard

Get the same seed as the grass you have and put some down in early Spring. Look up water requirements for that grass and obey the recommended schedule.

Zeon does not have a grass seed for you. The only zoysia that is produced in seed I think is called Zenith. But the root to the problem is what you should focus on in my opinion. You have a few things to troubleshoot. 1) first I would ensure you are getting 3-4 hours of sunlight. 2) second thing I would check to see if it is a high traffic area. This slow growing grass does wear down eventually and is slow to repair. I have a spot under my kids swing that never seems to repair quickly enough. 3) third thing is possible buried rock or other debris left by your builder as a present for your zoysia as a way of saying “no you may not have the best lawn on the block”.

Perhaps what you mean is what is the best Zoysia . The answer lies in where you live, and the current conditions of the growing area on your property. The best thing for you to do is invite the inspection of a local pro to determine the right grass for your needs. Zeon when sold is a licensed zoysia product certified by the makers at Bladerunner Farms. I do love me some Zeon.

@@bcsummerfield9242 I live in Piedmont NC and have amazing Zeon lawn. The envy of the neighborhood. My installer got it from Super Sod Store in Charlotte. Zeon doesn’t have seed but you can plug it. Get a Proplugger to make it much easier.

I got mine by a fluke as the sod company told me it was too wet to get the Meyers Zoysia out of the farm but they had Zeon already in the truck if I wanted that instead. Oh, heck yes. Wish I did my whole,e lawn in Zeon. I’m in NW AR.

No seed in the Zeon variety. It produces a sterile seed. Best bet is to sod or plug your lawn if you want Zeon.

if it stops raining long enough to mow my yard. So i'll let the Centipede Grass and St. Agustine grass seed> Trying to cross breed them! the Centipede is lime green and grows short, St, Agustine got wider blades and darker green little taller I love both , I like St. Agustine best grow a little taller and darker than Centipede ~ They both seed at the some time, make the same runners too! Both are Excellent ! I did rite! plant Centipede around the house and St. Agustine out in the fields> Less mowing around the house to100 yrds away with Centipede > Its the seeds on both makes it look tacky/ There both freeze, drought and disease resistance> and not like carpet grass gets grub worms> I got that shit out of here! Carpet grass SUCKS People mows there lawn 2 x a week! i mow once an month! LMFAO love to watch em work! trying to keep up looking as good as mine! Plant smart! If you have a business and you make videos for revenue, you should never make a video for youtube without a microphone of some kind. If you don't understand the basics of life like this, you aren't going to understand how to manage grass and sod. Common sense translates to everything, especially all services associated with Zoysia grass. I recommend the Rode GO II wireless microphone made exactly for professional video makers like what you're doing here. Don't ever make a video without a personal microphone.
