You seem to be in a similar situation to me, 10 years ago. When I moved to my house, I had a beautiful Bermuda lawn, and 2 sapling trees. Those trees are now 20 ft tall, and it doesn’t get the sun it needs. First lawn died out, I had it resodded and that lasted 2 years and died out. Now I have zoysia and a beautiful looking lawn once again. I see those smaller trees in your yard, but be prepared to switch to Zoysia when those become full on shade trees.

I am looking to do some seed pre-germination in a 5 gallon bucket? Ever done this with success? If so, trying to figure out the best seed to use for Bermuda grass.

What zoysia seed product do you recommend?

I’m trying Dog Tuff grass plugs which are similar to Bermuda. However this grass is sterile and only propagates via runners. Do you have any videos on how continue propagating this, versus buying new plugs? Thanks!

Would you know why my bermuda grass is turning lemon lime color in certain areas? Thanks from Kyle, Texas!
@austinjoelstephens6 ай бұрын
Often happens because of wrong fertilizer application (usually from dog pee). I’d check ph levels and make sure you are applying enough N and K to bring it to a nice green.

I have found St Augustine to be very drought tolerant, perform exceptionally well in shade and have had only minimal issues with fungus/disease; mostly from overwatering and evening watering. I now water with a Raicho and schedule my watering to end by sunrise and only 1-2 days a week to get roots to grow deeper. The Bermuda I have had in the past has also been very drought resistant and even if it dies, it will be back next season or when the water comes; it’s like a cockroach in a nuclear disaster, it will survive. Both are good grasses and comes down to exactly what you have said, preference!

I wish you had done as much grass p0rn for zoysia as you did with bermuda. I'd like to get an idea of what it looks like. All i saw was the leaves when you briefly talked about it. I have bermuda but it doesn't look like yours. I hate St Augustine - it looks like crabgrass and when you walk across it, it trips you with its runners.

@mariebee31464 ай бұрын
@@CourtannicaBahia sucks. Doesn't grow thick so weeds are a problem and there aren't a lot of herbicides that are safe for bahia. If you can avoid it, avoid it.
