People, Phil X is gone! It's a sad fact, but it is a fact. The channel is essentially, nay actually, about vintage guitars. So enjoy the vintage guitars being played as opposed to being stored in a private collection :-)

Les Paul Junior has been on my wishlist for some time. Beautiful guitar. The age doesn't even show on this one. If all these finishes are original, it goes to show how remarkably well they've been taken care of.

Awesome! Didn't think much of double cuts, but this changed my mind. Tone was awesome! Loved the playing Michael Grant! On a side note, hopefully all the Phil comparisons will fade. I am a Phil X fan, but things change and move forward. Tough to follow the original in any situation, a no win situation for all. I for one, really enjoy learning from new and different musicians! Expands ones horizons. I had heard of Michael Grant prior, and from seeing him here, have become a fan! \m/

1'st yr of ( Double cut ) LP Jr's is 58. & back then, it wasn't "Regular Mahogany" NO PROBLEM getting that now. It's HONDURAN MAHOGANY ! [ Banned by the CITES Act, International, & The Lacy act, .... Along with Brazilian rosewood ect. Honduran is a Tropical species, that grows in a VERY Wet environment. Sooo, when it's "Seasoned" or dried by current, infearior methods there are WAY more pore holes than the arid grown, sub-Saharan African species. WAY LIGHTER & More RESONANT !!... THIS IS WHY, 50's & other Honduran built guitars Sound & feel better. ( I've owned many) they were just " used guitars" not so long ago. On a double cut LP jr, the neck joins the body most of the way up the pickguard. ( dovetail, W hide glue) my 58 Tv model, actually rings LOUD ! ( Not even plugged in) !! & pluged into a 50W 71 4 input ( No master Volume) mk ll Marshall... Things in the warehouse Levitate ! & fall !! Straight up UNREAL ! & NOT for sale. Ooh... & Billy joe Notstrong uses a single cut. Not that it matters... It's his eyeliner that gets him his "tone" 3rd gen "Punk" Hilarious !!

Your playing is great! Some tips for the next session though: 1. Stop hiding behind the hat. 2. Look straight into the camera, SMILE and project confidence 3. You don't need a ring, 5 bracelets, 5 badges, chains and such to be rock'n'roll, just the right attitude
@brianj.44496 жыл бұрын
Starting a comment with pfff clearly states who is talking out of his ass. I loved this demo and I'm so glad they are moving on and posting again. This is constructive criticism of a video I enjoyed very much. Say what you want but the reason people love Phil so much is his attitude. I didn't even mention him in my comment. You my friend have no idea about my talent, but that has nothing to do with this video or my good intentions.
@brianj.44496 жыл бұрын
Angus doesn't hide behind his hat. He projects confidence. He could be naked or in an astronaut's suit for all I care. I wish this guy well, and he plays good. All the jewelry is unnecessary and can only damage the finish. I assume you're watching these videos for entertainment, just as I am, and not to spend tens of thousands of dollars on vintage guitars, so you should stop getting upset over youtube comments.
@magnoliawildwind82486 жыл бұрын
I’ll tell you what, Mr. Brian J. Why don’t you start your own video and take your own advice. Stop hiding behind your computer screen. Show us what you got! I’m certain that you don’t have 5% of Michael Grant’s talent. That’s a challenge for ya!😉🙂
