I still say if Eli Lilly lowered price and more people could afford without insurance coverage they would make more money

But if the PBMs are setting our prices, they could still keep the price the same, and make even more money if Lilly lowers theirs, they will make less money.

I am a cannabis pharmacist and my patients only occasionally complain about price and insurance can not cover cannabis, people find the money for what they find valuable. I feel like my patients consistently spend about $250/ month, some way more and some a little less. But that seems like a good price point for a chronic medication that will be purely out of pocket for patients.
@maryhester536413 күн бұрын
@@autumnm2075 Those of us with no insurance or government insurance, such as Medicare, have to pay almost $1300 for a 4 week supply of Zepbound which is more than 5 times what your patients pay a month. At a $1300 a month cost saying if Zepbound is your priority you will find the money to pay for it is not a fair statement in my opinion.

🖊️ I'm very proud of myself today! I made it to the YMCA early before my class started. I walked around the indoor track for half an hour. Then I went to my hour long AOA (Active Older Adults) exercise class. After my class my husband and I got in the pool and I was constantly moving in the pool. What a great day! My weight loss has slowed way down so I'm on a mission to get back to losing more than 1 or 2 pounds for the whole month. Next month I will be down 6-8 pounds for the month. You watch and see. I'm determined to do it!!!!

Somehow, my coworker just got approved by our insurance for zepbound for weight loss. It got kicked back once but then her doctor appealed it and she got the prescription. the last two or three times I’ve tried. I just got completely denied both times. I tried for three different medication’s. I’m going to try again in hopes that something is changing. I will keep you guys posted on if I finally was able to get approved. I’ve asked my doctor to do the pre-authorization for prediabetes high blood pressure and obesity, but I’m really not sure if she is following through with that. I’m going to reach out to her and ask her to prescribe me the Zepbound for those indications.

There is a man on KZbin his name is Bill Notts. he has over 200 pounds going low-carb and using the vibration plate. He kept getting sick even though he was losing weight because he wasn’t able to walk and by using the vibration plate supposedly it helped his lymphatic system. He swears by it once again it’s his testimony, but his story is incredible! I just know that he tributes a big part of his weight loss journey to his vibration plate.

🖊You're great company for my rebounding session! Gotta say, if Eli Lilly wants us to recognize the cost of research compassionately, they would take more agency over national price disparities. The research behind a Canadian or German shot pen has the exact same price tag as a US shot pen. I got so frustrated, I sold my Eli Lilly portfolio holdings...grrr!! Probably shouldn't have but when you wanna send a message, vote with your dollar they say right? Anyhoo, I sure wish we'd hear how the propositions discussed in the senate hearing last month have developed! Congratulations on your great progress!
@gablovesplantssydney13 күн бұрын
But if you watched those senate hearings you would have heard that the PBMs take most of the cost (74%) of the medications as a kickback, so it is the PBMs who your fight should be with not the drug companies. Also, I think you guys forget sometimes that Canada and other countries where the drug is reported as being cheaper, have Universal healthcare systems, which means that the govt picks up most of the cost of all medicines. This is paid for through our taxes. The amount you hear about us paying is like the co pay you pay (if you have insurance). If you have insurance in America, and I know that many people unfortunately don’t, and these drugs are covered then you might pay noting, or $25 as a co pay, which is much cheaper than we can get these drugs for. insurance in a universal healthcare system just comes from a different source. Americans insurance comes from your employers (and I guess is part of your salary package). In other countries it comes the government, who can negotiate down the drug prices on our behalf, and we spread the cost of those drugs, if they are covered, across the whole population.
@ChristineWilliams-id3ow13 күн бұрын
@gablovesplantssydney Oh interesting, no I concede i only heard news clips on PBS Newshour from the hearings, i did hear the Nordisk CEO point to Pharmacy Benefit Managers, but hadn't heard the dynamic forcing the markup & certainly not the degree to which it occurs! 74%!! I wish a universal Healthcare option were available in the US; the current arrangement benefits very few and leaves so many sick. Thank you for enlightening me re: PBM markup percentages! Looks like I sold the wrong stock! It would be nice if more aggressive efforts were made somewhere towards the PBMs
@gablovesplantssydney13 күн бұрын
@ if I could afford it I would buy Eli Lilly Stock! But all my money goes to their marvellous medications! Yes, I was flabbergasted when I found out about PBMs and how much they demanded to stock a product in their formularies. It is like Mafia standover tactics “ you want us to stock your product, you pay us ‘protection’ money!” (said in a Mafia boss accent!!!). You can of course vote next week for the representatives who are most likely to bring you towards a Universal Healthcare System! I know who the rest of the world hopes you all vote for (a hint - it isn’t the orange man baby). But it is up to you. I am from Australia and we only brought in Universal Healthcare in 1984 so it can be done. It is not perfect (what in life is?) but no one here goes bankrupt because they are sick and need treatment. Its greatest shortcoming here is that they did not include dental care in it. And dental care costs a lot! Kids can get checkups in certain places but not adults.

✏️ First, thank you for taking the time to listen to the investors call, especially after all that travel! I never thought I would be so invested in such a thing. 😮 As you have said, we are in exciting times. I really hope even with all the R&D investments that Eli Lilly will reduce the price for people without insurance coverage. I absolutely believe they can do that and still make a hefty profit. But, then again I’m no business or economics expert. As for me, I reveling in losing another 3lbs taking my total to 43.8lbs, almost exactly halfway to my current goal weight. I was able to express pride in myself out loud which felt really good. I’m just staying the course, giving myself grace and taking it day by day. ❤

Older people are the ones at higher risk for these corn mobilities and we can’t get any of them because Medicare won’t cover any of them now lucky enough I can afford to pay for the compound. I’ll be out of the market when these disappear, just asking, sorry to be negative. It’s important! 😢

Try Medicare Part D Medications- choose a program that covers mounjaro and doesn’t require PA ( prior authorization) then get a prescription from your doctor, then any pharmacy will fill it.
