honestly, i really wish it was possible to actually edit what you convert. like i find its pretty fun to feed flutes and stuff into this, just for the weird sounds it generates, but say if i could put an acapella in, and then change the words, or the melody, or if i make a bunch of vocal chops, then feed it into this and add real words to the chop, this feature would have an actual usecase for me. as it is, it just does nothing really, besides be a strange vocal effect.

So...does vocaloid AI only mean the voice Banks can use this feature but no other difference. Or are vocaloid AI banks like other synths "standard" vs "AI" where the difference is apparent.

only AI Vocaloid 6 voicebanks can use the Vocalo Changer feature. Only Synth V has "standard" & "ai" voices and no, there arent those here

Tried some of my own singing in this. No go. A lot of distortion and trial voicebanks make it all sound like they're very drunk xD gotta play around with it a bit more I may need a better microphone admittedly. But i dont think mine is that terrible.

Question is this feature useless for me since this seems like an autotune. Something I already do on FL studio. I tend to transfer the vocals out of vocaloid programs then I put them in FL studio. You can see our song on my channel from PSYCHEII called American dragon Jake Long which uses Sarah from vocaloid 6 and I throw her into auto tune. All the other tracks from PSYCHEII before American dragon Jake Long we use vocaloid 5 Amy.

That is not how this feature works at all so Im really confused on why you thought this is autotune. This feature takes an existing wav audio vocal file and converts it to your Vocaloid 6 AI vocal instead of the original vocalist. its a voice changer, not an autotune

I'm also curious about Synth V which is way cheaper but bought vocalroid 6 instead. Not sure which one of the two is better. I do have a issue where i tried one or two of the female voices and i type in Hello in the first thing it has difficult to say hello and also when i try to type it often times tries to change it to hell or hel instead which is annoying. Someone who also has that issue that the Ai has difficulty saying hello. The same thing when i try to type the word love usually in the first bar, the other words are spoken correctly. I haven't use the vocalo changer yet.

this tutorial is only for the vocal changer unfortunately, but your issue sounds like pronunciation. i know in vocaloid you can edit the phonetic pronunciation of lyrics. there might be a better tutorial for specifically that issue on youtube.

can i import vocaloid 4 voice bank in vocaloid 6, like they do in vocaloid 5? im interested using V4 VB with the V6 editor, not for AI tuning or vocalo changer. i just want to try the parameter and editor.

V4 voicebank will only have the old parameters and will not have advance controls like changing the behavior of phonemes and etc. It is like using the features / parameters of v4 Voice in newer editor.

i havent run into a problem where a wav file wouldnt work. did you try making a audio track first? if that doesnt work try converting your wave file into another wave file. sometimes programs are weird like that

I have that same problem, but I found out that if I have chrome open with the downloaded file at the bottom in one window, and vocaloid open in another, the file will drag and drop in. that's the only way it works for me.

it won't let me import audio at all when i try to drop it into the audio layer, it shows that i can drop it in there but once i do it doesn't do anythin... is there any other way to open audio for this?

did you make sure your audio was a .wav file? if so, you might need to convert it with another software to a new .wav file and import that into Vocaloid 6

i tried the most clear acapella songs i knew and still got that distortion :crY: . what i dont understand is that i does sound better when is a vocaloid audio, even if it was robotic or with two voices.

if you cant drag and drop, make sure your audio is a .wav format and try it again. also sometimes files are weird and if you convert it to the same .wav using a converter sometimes the editor reads it differently. ive had to do that with synthv

Synth V definitely. its way more user friendly and offers more to the user. Vocaloid 6 is a fun gimmick if you want to use Vocalo Changer

If you go to Yamaha's official introduction video and the V6 walkthrough, they explain how this can be used by song artists to make a vocal melody using only their voice versus manual note input on the editor

@@_Rhatsody Thanks for responding. So it just provides a different note input method? Surely if you can sing, you'd just use your own voice, and if you can't, you'll need to fix the tuning anyway? The only reasonable use I can think of, is if you're writing for a gender other than your own and want to switch octaves and voice completely. It looks more like an excuse to market the entire product to talentless people who just want to replace lead lines in recordings to create their own "cover version". Where's the skill in that? Don't get me wrong: I think the underlying technology of Vocaloid and similar has a significant value to composers (especially those who don't sing). I just don't get the using one voice to replace another, using pitch tracking.

@@themidimachine with this method there are no notes at all. You are simply working with an audio file conversion. You could possibly import that audio file into a software like vocalshifter or melodyne to edit notes but for this feature specifically there are no notes. Only an audio file

@@themidimachine the main goal of vocaloid is to be an alternate tool for song creators. People make covers just cause they can, it's not what the software was made to do primarily, haha. Also this feature let's you pitch the converted vocals up or down so gender in this scenario does not matter with it. Overall, it's a boon of a features adding accessibility to song creation for vocaloid users. If that's not your cup of tea I'm sure there's other softwares elsewhere

This feature is HORRIBLE. I dont know what the hell they were thinking when they decided to include it. Vocaloid definetly has been largely surpassed by other options. Its a shame because it used to be the best, when it has no competition. The quality of the AI Voices is really bad, and it is unbelievable they can´t come up with something that sounds completly human when you can easily get that with any AI today in regular speech.

@@wifi-YT I tried it with a cleaner a capella track and it does make a difference. The problem is that is very hard to find really clean tracks. And if you use AI to isolate them it wont work. So it is a very limited feature that works under very special cicumstances. It feels more like a tech experiment than a useful feature.

@@_Rhatsody Sure, The first thing they should do is to let you modify it! You shoudl be able to manipulate the phonemes like midi notes like you use in the regular editor. And they should be more flexible with the acapella tracks. It´s very hard to get crystal clear tracks with no reverb or delay.
