Gretchen, you are a master of the craft. I've seen you live 3 times and was blown away each time. I hope you don't get tired and give it up. You have done so well. Love it.

Great tips!! I was gifted official transcriptions for the box set when I was 15 and learned immensely from that. And I agree about referencing live stuff to hear how Jimmy arranged it for performance. Of course it took waiting another 20 years for KZbin to exist to really dig into the live catalog. Thx, Gretchen!

Hey Gretchen thanks a lot for the lessons. KZbin pointed me automatic for a Zepperella clip after I was hearing the original When the Levee Breaks from 1927. The song ist quite important for me and one of these that works like a soundtrack for a important moment in life. I was surprised with the band, really amazingly good and than decided to have a go on the Lesson and found the way you do really really good. You seem to be not only a great musician but an amazing person too. I´d love to see you teaching The Rain Song. Greetings from a brazilian guy living in Germany and now following your channel.

I always got the impression that Jimmy doesn't want guitarists to know his "secrets" and that is why he never did his most iconic solos accurately when filmed. I always feel bummed-out when great guitarists don't play their great solos precisely like the record. This is a phenomenon that doesn't occur in classical music.

I also use Transcribe, and in addition to slowing the music down, you can select one short phrase off the wave form, learn those few notes, then add a few more notes etc. instead of trying to learn an entire verse at once.

She is wonderful. I saw her in an interview that earlier in her career she was Angus Young in an ACDC tribute band. I would love to see her reproducing that guitar work.

That barney miller solo gets a little tricky at the end that guy was a good player, I guess there were quite a few versions. Did one where some trumpet guy was playing it

Where's your Fender Telecaster? If ya wanna play like Page, ya gotta have a Fender Telecaster.

Tom Tobin, Gretchen is actually very Page-esque with her Gibson Les Paul, running multi coil pickups...she gets very authentic tones with all the sing, sustain & growl. Mr. Page also played a DanElectro & a double -necked Gibson as well.

Page used mostly Les Paul's onstage with Zeppelin after '69. I suppose you're referring to the Stairway solo which he did record with a Telecaster but live he mostly used his Gibson EDS Doubleneck for that one.

Page played Telecaster with Yardbirds and on first Zepp album and in The Firm, but Gibson '59 Les Paul is guitar he'd used the most in Led Zeppelin and that is guitar we all remember the best in Jimmy's hands and Gretchen is 100% right playing Zepp songs with Les Paul in Zepparella

Always it has been hard to find-out Page's single notes, chords and musical counterparts 'cause of so many reasons..! 1) Often the songs were recorded in not conventional tunings..! 2) Even just few months after the recording, the songs, solos included, weren't played live in the same way of the studio version..! 3) The unfortunate lack of a "guitarist cut" official footages or video bootlegs, to figure-out the "position" of his hands and so, the right voices..! 4) Often mr. Page just played some guitar parts and solos way too messy to be well decoded, understood and re-interpreted properly (...But this final reason, even if the most hostile for "playing" fans, it's also the main why rock'n'roll was rock'n'roll!!!)..! Wolf Marshall use "Transcribe" too, I guess..!

NO, But Gene Parsons fitted a B string bender to my Telecaster and he did the same work on Pagey's Telecaster so I am connected .... somehow. The B string bender telecaster on " In Through The Outdoor" is classic Pagey. Pagey also has a Les Paul with the same device fitted and he used it on " Thank You " on the Page /Plant tour and Unledded CD.
