Getting my second MRI after being diagnosed with MS, I suddenly felt claustrophobic for the first time. To get through that 45 minutes, trapped in that narrow tube, I tried thinking of a calm lake, but it didn't work. Then, I started playing Led Zeppelin 1 in my head from start to finish, note for note and beat for beat. By the end the MRI, I was calm and happy. Thank you, Led Zeppelin. I look forward to episode 2, JCM. Your videos are awesome!

Thank you for sharing your story. I can only imagine how tough it must have been to face that MRI, especially with everything you're going through. It's incredible how music, especially Led Zeppelin 1, can provide such comfort and strength in difficult moments. I'm really touched that the music had that calming effect for you, and it means a lot that you find value in my videos. Wishing you the best on your journey, and I’ll make sure episode 2 is worth the wait. Take care and stay strong! 🙏

Your theme music is just briliant!!! So very well done (from one Zeppelin guitarist to another)..... I always thought that the second album was a sonic let down after the first album, the sound was "just right"...... Page had a plan, he knew exactly how the first album was going come together and what it was going to sound like. It literally is the BEST EVER debut album EVER!! I first heard it in 1979 when I bought it with my first payment from a after-school Lawn Mowing job I got, and every week after that was the next Zeppelin album, I bought them all in order.....The first album is special for sure.....

Another FANtastic film by JCM!! Thank you for making this film, as LZ1 was the EXACT album that hooked me on Zep at age 14. All of us fans have our story of why Zep means so much to us and it's just so awesome you've put together such a spectacular channel with productions dedicated to the fandom of Led Zeppelin. My very first experience of listening LZ1 was getting off the bus after school with no one home and discovering my father's 8-track cassette tapes....the "blimp" on fire captured my imagination and I thought "hmm....what's this about??". Sure I heard LZ on the radio and loved their top-hits, but I wondered what else they had to offer. Well.....I was BLOWN AWAY by EVERY SONG on that album. I wore out my father's 8-track and bought myself the cassette and it followed me through my remaining high school years. My most memorable impacting song, that helped me get through studying for end of year final exams, was "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You". Idk y, but no matter anytime I hear it, especially the middle when Page introduces The Bow, it makes me transform to that period of time in my life...almost 31 years ago! If you get to my comment here, on a side note, I'd love to hear your thoughts on guitarist Mick Ronson? I recently discovered old footage of him and Bowie playing in concert and really love their live performance of "Moonage Daydream".
@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories
@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories 21 күн бұрын
Age 14, oh man, i relate, 100%, it does get you hooked on the sound, absolutely. The blimp does capture one's attention right? I've never listened to this album on 8-track, i bet it sounded great, warmth and punch. When you say the bow on Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, you mean the sound in the middle? I think that was made with an actual slide guitar on top of a steel pedal instrument so it builds, not wanting to crush your memories though hehehe. The Bow was used on Dazed and How Many More Times. Sorry, my fanboy got out! Mick Ronson, well i'd have to do some research on him. First off i think he lives in the shadow of Bowie but the man had much artistry just like Steve Stevens and Billy Idol but you know....so much better :) Hope you like Episode 2, have a great week!

It's embyronic premonition indeed. Led Zeppelin 1 was a personal message by Page to previous Yardbirds producers...."this is how you do it". The band's US TOUR of 1968 was very potent, the energy was there. I believe had Relf and McCarty stayed, Page would've produced a great Yardbirds album himself it he had the chance. Jimmy the producer is what separated him from the others, i bet Clapton and Beck were impressed by Zep 1, beyond the music...much more!

One of the greatest things for me about Zepp is they didn't sing about POLITICS. I hate rockers talking about that because, it ends up sounding phony you know? ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT !! 1,2 & 4 is where I started. I remember my dad telling me about how he had a paper route in 1968-69. Got his money and went to buy a new record. He’d never heard of LZ (their 1st album had just hit shelves) but he bought LZ1 solely due to the 4 guys on the back cover having long hair. 😂🤣 He gets it home, gets halfway through ‘Good Times, Bad Times’ and he’s calling all of his friends inviting them over to have their minds blown. By the end of the day the record shop was all out of LZ1 copies.

Obs-Tweedle was a Walsall-based 1960s rock band notable for singer Robert Plant’s appearance before joining Led Zeppelin. The band also featured Bill Bonham, a cousin of future Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, on keyboards and bass guitar. The band was originally known as ‘Sounds of Three’ and later changed to ‘The Answer’ in 1966. Before Obs-Tweedle, Robert was the frontman for The Band of Joy. The correct name of the band was Obs-Tweedle, not Hobbstweedle or Hebbstweedle. I read that Robert Plant was also on salary for approximately the first 12 to 18 months of Led Zeppelin. Led Zeppelin’s first-ever rehearsal, was held on Monday, 12 August 1968, at 39 Gerrard Street in Soho, London, U.K.

You know your facts, 100% always a pleasure to read them. I believe Robert could have been a salaried man in Led Zeppelin but at the same time, i don't think he was based on the circumstances you know? Bonham WAS making money and he saw this as a job opportunity, smart man.

@@JCM-LedZeppelin-Storiesnow what I have heard was their first rehearsal was on August 19,1968, the day before Plant’s 20th birthday. Though whenever it was, everything happened so quick. How quick Jimmy got the other 3 to the 6 gigs in Iceland, to recording & signing on with Atlantic Records. I have to wonder, are there any other bands that had everything flow that quick? The fact they got that amazing contract, & signing bonus, by I believe it was November 22,1968, is so mind blowing. When you think too, it was two pairs that knew each other, but didn’t know the other pair. How their being so in sync musically, was like being a set of quad brothers, or 4 parts of the same person. I know I’m yapping on, but I’m such a huge fan of them, at least 50 years. Sadly never had the chance to see them in concert, either to young to far away, or never came back to the USA. GREATEST BAND EVER!!!

Good documentary as always. When I saw the part at the end about Pink Floyd playing Sacramento, I had to see where and it was the Sound Factory my brother was at that show, it was an old bowling alley turned into a solid rock venue. I was just about to turn 4 years old, and my brother just turned 15.

@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories So yes, my brother said that Pink Floyd was really good. My brother passed away in January of 2006, but he had so many great stories. He has seen Jimi Hendrix 5 times, Santana 3 times he said the best Santana show was on the Santana third album tour with Neil Schon on guitar with Carlos . My brother took me to my first concert in 1977 on July 23rd in Oakland, CA. at Day on the Green, Led Zeppelin, Rick Derringer, and Judas Priest. The stage looked like Stonehenge. Jimmy Page was my hero, John Bonham was a monster on the drum kit that day, and of course, back stage for the incident. I was blessed to see and hear the band Led Zeppelin live, and they were LOUD! My brother took me to my first 3 concerts. Sharing the same room with my brother as a kid, I heard a lot of music. My brother played drums, but he stopped when he was a senior in high school. He was a really good drummer, people that he went to school with told me he was great. I was 6 years old when he stopped playing, but even at 6 years old, Led Zeppelin was my favorite band. I apologize for rambling on lol, The Sound Factory was originally a bowling alley, but the guy who bought it reconstructed it into a place for concerts. My brother went to quiet a few there, also seeing Jethro Tull there. Take care. I appreciate the work you have done.

That back cover photograph was taken by none other than Chris Dreja - who recently retired from music to pursue a photography career! His name is credited on the lower right corner. After learning about this quartets’ evolution so many years ago, the thing that really amazes is that it sounds (their debut album) as if they’d been together for decade. Instead it was a mere few short months. In their naivety they’d thought they made a good record and were shocked to read the scathing reviews by brain-dead, would-be journalists.

Page definitely used The Yardbirds 1968 platform, but it really shows the arranging skills all 4 had. This for me is their greatest contribution. They could tackle any song by anyone and make it better. The plagiarism accusations are BS really, they ELEVATED the material they were inspired by. Unlike....so many competitors. Journalists hated them because Led Zeppelin made their girlfriends happy...i'm sure Robert stole more than one! More power to HIM! Hope he stole a Rolling Stone Journalist Girlfriend!

John Davis? I’m not aware of this…. is this a vinyl pressing? I diligently purchased the remasters when they came out, not much was said about the vagaries of the actual source of the vinyl pressings , now known to be digital. I have over time got first pressings of all the albums, the biggest change is 3 and Presence, 3 is notably more liquid in its reproduction of guitars and keyboards, it’s more dynamic with greater sense of room sound, Presence is quite spiky , the mids and highs are brittle and sharp, I remember Jimmy speaking about changing the EQ with the digital re master, and the difference between the original Song Remains The Same in it’s original Eddie Kramer vinyl mix and the complete remix is actually quite troubling even with the extra songs … I have watched all your videos, very good indeed, the first thing I ever heard was your favourite, In Through The Out Door, which again is far more involving and dense with sound than the remaster, I then worked backwards with my Led Zeppelin purchases, cheers from England, love to get you in a studio and write some tunes, I sing, your playing is great dude ….

Well done JCM. I subscribed. No need to look further to find detailed sources in regards of Led Zeppelin and it's band members (even though I would look to other videos of anything new comes up). 🎵🎻🎹🥁🎤🎸🎼Thank you Update: I'm gonna watch your video: The Making of "The Song Remains the Same" Madison Square Garden NYC 1973 probably one of the very Best Live Concerts of All Times in my opinion. THANK YOU 🎧😊
