Something I discovered recently: If you hold Alt and right click with an artillery unit, it will start firing on the AREA you selected rather than targeting a unit. So, if you aim a Hellstorm or Mortar to the back of an enemy unit locked in melee with your army, you will risk FAR less friendly fire damage while still allowing your artillery to fire.

It's a really good strategy especially if you have battlefield choke points combined with spells that slow, but be careful you don't let you're units run into the field of fire chasing fleeing enemies!

Lol none of this happened on my run... I couldn't recruit swordsmen, nor spear+shield footmen... and when I finally took the final providence the vampire court had... the savage orcs immediately declared war on me, wiping out what little army I had left. SO redoing... GREAT video though! ♥

Could you shout at CA to change the Nuln Gunnery School landmark? Again? When IE launched, the landmark didn't have the recruitment options it had in Warhammer II. Those were then added and we lost them again with this new DLC. This seems like a major oversight. Other landmarks like Drazhoath's Infernal Barracks also suffer from this, where you can't recruit the associated units and would need to double-dip building-wise, which is pointless and suboptimal.

Another tip, Nuln Ironsides are surprisingly decent in melee so while you don't want them not shooting, they can hold their own for a little bit

That's thanks to their armour. Imo, armoured ranged units make for decent melee combatants when pushed.

A great thing to know with all artillery is how to manually tell your art where to shoot. select your art, hold alt and right click the ground. I've had amazing results with the mortars, telling them to aim at the backside of the front lines and they consistently decimate the enemy troops without hitting my own. Same for cannons (shooting at angles) HellStorm Rockerts (same as mortars but maybe slightly further behind the enemy because damn they scatter so much.) Just be sure to tell them to stop when the enemy routes so your troops aren't rushing forward into no mans land.

@Zerkovich You have picked terrible side in first battle. The hill on the other side of small valley is much better: 1) Enemy starts further, which means your long range artilery have longer time to pound them 2) You can track movement of enemy the whole time, if you start near forest you risk that they will hide among the trees 3) The hill you picked is not straight slope, it has bumbs, which means your range units will have troubles - you even mentioned that but still picked the wrong side

Wow Zerk you are a strategic demon, I know that because up until turn 5 I literally did everything that you did before even watching the vid. I fought the siege battle instantly though, cheesing a bit the AI by destroying the towers first then walls and shooting through the gaps with my handgunners and leeching their lords.

I've discovered that I suck at the Realm of Chaos campaign - especially when playing order factions - when it's time to go through the first portal, I never have an army to spare.

How do you recruit Theodore Bruckner? I completed the quest (build tier 3 stables/Livery) and the quest is marked as complete, but he’s nowhere to be seen

It's a two part quest, first build the Livery, then a new quest will pop up for you to get 1000 kills with melee cav. After both are done, good old Teddy Bruckner will show up next to Elspeth.

i got one aswell save up 10K ez on early game invest 7500 in reserch mecanise of the empire => unlock steam tank and magic mortar (15 turn later you have new ones) ....rush vlad get more money then just snowball

This campaign can become pretty sweaty if Kislev dies and if Festus gets a roll on. For me Kislev died before I get to see them and that meant Skaven, Demons and Festus was running around up there and coming down to visit me. While I was dealing with Vlad. Karl had to deal with other Vampires and that fatso ork. Good god did I need to help him out because he'd just leave some real easy targets to go somewhere else. I also got surprise visit from Wuzzargh with his waagh army. I did not get any rest while playing and I'm trying to be efficient with wiping out my enemies too and being aggressive.

I have been getting excited for this DLC. Ready to get back into TWW after the missing shadows of change because of price. Saw this video, realized it was out and went to buy it. Then saw the price had increased again, The devs did everything right. Then the higher ups decided to plunge the knife into all of that and try to gouge out a more. Damn. Why? I'm actually in a state of shock. And disappointment. Should have expected it. Shame on me for getting my hopes up. I've loved this game for so long, but I guess it's just no longer for me. The value proposition is just not there and I'm sad. Zerkovich, I still really like your style and vids and will continue to watch your awesome content. Just wanted to say my comment is not meant to throw shade on you at all, your great.

I’m sure you’ve figured this out by now, but you have to buy the amethyst units for schematics first before you can spend gold and recruit them into your army. It’s a bit of a rip off.

not recomended to build the teleport in your starting city, it wont be in danger, and even if say there is a rebellion or a rogue army, the garrison is far beyond enough to deal with it

I love this game but i am so bad at it. I always have trouble with fighting the vampire lords when i play empire

ive been playing the campaign and im getting rattled with gun units not shooting. defending a castle and i cant get them to shoot! theyre looking right at the zombies and not shooting! and when you issue a shoot command they start running around like dummies. is there a setting i need or something? the gun units only seem to be willing to shoot like half the time.

Units that require line of sight are notoriously unreliable in this game so your best bet would be to just use crossbows or huntsman and only have maybe 2 or 3 handgun type units in the army for taking out the occasional lord or hero.

If you’re still having this issue, best bet is to 1.) turn off “Default Skirmish Mode” setting and 2.) start setting up a checkerboard formation. Checkerboard formations allow your gunpowder units an unobstructed line of site while still stopping the enemy’s frontline from reaching them.

@@LordFargothUr the game has had women such as the sisters of battle who are a badass group of women who drop bombs in the shape of cathedrals on their enemies. But employees decided women needed a larger representation so they started retconning the story saying oh no secretly the custodies the emperor's most powerful bodyguards have always been men and women and by the way the emperor may not still be the emperor he could be transitioning to they/them basically the companies going woke. A healthier way to do this would be expanding the already badass women in the game! You want more women? Great, make new badass women you don't have to replace and rewrite existing story lines. But that's what this ideology does instead of finding ways to work with people it just forces itself on people. Turns out there's three types of people. Some people like it when something's forced on them and they say yes daddy, other people just pretend it's not happening period and others are like I would really appreciate it if you just stopped forcing yourself on me

Of course nothing has changed, that was the previous DLC, this was one is on decay. The price has decayed, the poor communication has decayed and the lack of hype has decayed to give birth to a new cycle where players feel listened to and where CA got their S together and provided proper content and mechanics at a reasonable price. The poor changes we saw with the previous DLC are but a shadow now. So yes, I will buy it and I will enjoy every second of it

They literally fixed all the complaints about the previous DLC in a free update and didn't repeat those mistakes with this one. If you boycott a company even when it fixes its mistakes then you actively disincentivise them from listening to the community. You are actively making things worse.
