One afternoon I took one of my old customers up flying for his birthday. He was 75 and he'd never flown before. On the way I was playing this track as at the time it was one of my favourites. We arrived at the airfield to hear that an aircraft had crashed into the World Trade Center. It was a terrible accident but it didn't stop me from completing my pre-flight and getting the old guy strapped in. We'd been in the air 20 minutes and he was having the time of his life when we were told by ATC that the entire U.K. airspace was being closed and we had to land immediately. Everyone at the flying club was gathered around the T.V. in the clubhouse in total shock watching the towers burn. I can't hear this tune today without it bringing back those memories.
