If your zero clearance insert has seen better days, tape off the top of the insert and pour epoxy onto the underside, filling the slot completely. Recut the slot and it's as good as new.

Hals Wood Shop, Great work Also I found 1/4 plywood will work for my 510 model. I also made one for drum sanding. a little spray paint made a change. good job on the dado blade since you are right you only cut slightly into the wood and too much opening and the board can drop in on edge cuts. this can also run the molding head, Sears makes one and their cutters are low cost, so does Shopsmith. Look up my outfeed table on Lumberjocks.

I checked out your outfeed table, very simple and efficient, now I need to make one for mine. Thanks for your comment.

Very nice. I am still grinning over your son's looking for his ear muffs. I grew up doing woodwork without ear protection which may explain the severe tinnitus that plagues my days and nights now.

I have watch other KZbin videos on how to make zero clearance insert. I like yours the best, so I'm going some. I suggest you make serval insert for your DADO blade and label each one with it widths, that way you will same time in the set-up.

How do you like your shopsmith

The video and work looks great! I have a shopsmith as well (mine is an old greenie) and when I try to make 0 clearance inserts, I always have problems with the table saw table wobbling back and forth because the height adjustment lock makes it ridgid, and obviously that must be loosened to make the plunge cut. I noticed in this video you didn't address that. On your saw is it even an issue? Did you just accept the imperfection if there is any gap? Thank you, Jacob Blomdahl, your newest sub.

Thank for subbing. I am kind of new to the Shopsmith world. I did not notice any wobbling so it might not be an issue.

We have been a couple of time but did not record it. Now the ice is getting unsafe so it won’t be until next freeze. Thanks for your words of encouragement, I hope to get 1,000,000 subs also.
