There's a classic phrase in the DJ community. "Press play, walk away". You DO get producer DJ's, who actually make their own music and DJ it at events. Ravs was essentially a wedding DJ, and to be fair, i'd book him for my wedding.

The bolt vs bullet question is so hard because there's so many factors that affect the damage. Like they narrowed it down to a .45 fired by an M1911, but then you also have to consider the weight and type of bullet i.e. FMJ or hollow point. Then with the crossbow bolt, you have to consider the draw weight of the crossbow, the weight of the bolt, and the arrowhead used i.e. bodkin tip or broadhead.

Harry can't go to the tournament in Hawaii anyway. The Alolan variant Harry would have to go instead.
@cazador62507 ай бұрын
The bullet would almost certainly be worse. The bullet would likely start to fragment within you and the damage would be spread over a larger area. Sure the projectile and entrance wound is smaller but the exit wound from a .45 would probably be fist size.

It totally depends on what type of bullet / bolt, some bolts are straight with a point on the end, some have barbs and hooks to prevent pulling them out. Some bullets are hard tipped and try to penetrate armour, some bullets break up on impact to cause as much damage to soft tissue as possible. A bullet designed to spin, break and rip up your insides would cause far greater damage than a bolt.

I loved the +30 minutes of just chatting! ❤ Listening to books all the way, because if I read I focus on the reading part more. When I'm listening I imagine the world and story more. A bullet or bolt? I pick the bullet with the same reason as Ravs and Lyds. I feel a bolt would mess me up more than a bullet.
@jayphillips41677 ай бұрын
The damage a .45 can cause is likely more easily repairable than a bolt. Having a large bolt get stuck into flesh gives you the choice to pull it out and cause terrible damage or push it all the way through causing terrible damage. The only plus side is at least when it's stuck inside, you won't be bleeding as profusely until you get to somewhere safe to remove the bolt and treat the wound.

My first instinct is that a bolt has barbs on the end and thus is going to pierce on the way in, but rip if it's pulled out. There's also the option of pushing it all the way through (if it hasn't already done so). Hunting arrows have like carbon fiber shafts or something, so there shouldn't be a worry of it splintering (I imagine it's the same for bolts). If the bullet hits bone it'll tumble more inside your body. Even without hitting bone it will tumble and that's why exit wounds are larger than entrance wounds. So, where on your body it hits does seem to be a major factor (bone to muscle & fat ratios, concentration of organs, etc).

I read every word. If I've stopped paying attention I re-read or rewind when listening-KZbin, podcasts, movies, everything. I also almost always have subtitles on any form of video. Though I do often have videos on my second monitor when playing a game I don't have to think about. It really depends on the type of content if it's main or second monitor. Also, when I'm reading comments/posts online, if someone makes a grammatical mistake I have to reread the sentence until I understand what they were conveying. Though I usually understand on the 2nd readthrough, if I haven't understood by the 4th, I give up. I presume this is to due with autism, but 🤷♀ Edit: I used to read so much as a child that around 3rd grade I bought a speed reading course to be able to get through books faster. In the end it was various techniques to basically do what Harry does. This didn't work for me at all. I can do it, but it makes me uncomfortable and unassured that I actually properly digested the material. Something, something the intention of the author maybe?

I recently got back into reading, and I prefer a physical copy above an e-book or audiobook. I tend to lightly skim sentences, I will read quicker if I’m not that interested and vice versa.

if you got shot in the arm with a .45 either the bullet misses your bone and you have a large and profusely bleeding entry and exit wound or it hits your bone and shatters it. if the crossbow hits you in the arm there is no way it would penetrate the bone and if it went through then it would be plugging the wound stopping the bleeding. not to mention the amount of damage the shrapnel from the bullet could cause. i think if you are hit in the chest with either then you're just dead
@blizzardthewizardlizard7 ай бұрын
A crossbow would be better anywhere in the limps, but any body shot a crossbow is going to be far worse. A crossbow bolt will bend as it goes through your body and if it hits a bone is likely to shatter. Organ damage is far worse, but you have a lot less chance of bleeding out from a crossbow shot.

Just fyi a crossbow can punch through steel plate armour within effective range, it could easily shatter bone

I think question 1 ends with "when do i get to go to the hospital?" because you seem unsure :) indeed, bullets seem cleaner and better and safer, especially if i get shot in a hospital. but i guess getting shot in the woods with a bow is better?

Crossbow bolt or arrow would be easier to remove, a bullet not being removed will easily kill you.

I'm curious what the age range was like at the Pokémon tournament. I used to play competitively when at Uni (about ten years ago), but took a break and have wanted to get back into it for years. But I just feel like I'd be too old and it would be really weird me being there. The oldest age division is age 16 and up, I just wish they did a 'veteran' division or something.
@Quasmokay7 ай бұрын
was not expecting the takeaway today be 'Barry doesn't read'. Listening to an audio book isn't reading, it's listening, and your brain processes it differently; the two are both a way to spend time, and there the similarity ends

What ravs did is called the Skrillex method. Look like youre doing something. In fact you're doing nothing. Difference is Skrillex tricked a generation of kids into thinking he made great tunes. DJ'ing is very technical and difficult to master.
