The Emperor says you played the Maintenance Crews perfectly. Hopefully, you will not have anyone get Damaged. That really plays havoc with your crews.

The Emperor thinks that maybe you might have considered, because there is no Overkill on this Target, the other two might have hit the Sites and picked up an easy kill....

Thanks for the walk through. I have a question. I started unpacking the box and getting ready for play. I only have 8 of each type of bombs and Torpedo's. ordinance. Is this correct? Doesn't seem like a lot.

Hi, yes that's all I had and I don't recall any problems (only bombers can load bombs; escorts can't and the number of aircraft is quite low for each mission). Let me know how you get on.

Hey there! I recently started a KZbin channel doing mostly sports gaming but I’m thinking about branching out into war games - mostly thanks to videos like yours! Would you recommend Zero Leader as the one to start with? Or another in the leader series? Or something different entirely? The idea is to do a “Newbie Wargamer Tries XYZ”

Hi Marco, the best thing (IMO) is to pick a subject that interests you. You mentioned Zero Leader, so I assume WW2 and aircraft. Zero Leader is a good game - also look at Corsair Leader which doesn't have as many 'extra' rules. For non aircraft games I also recommend Pavlov's House and Castle Itter. I have a playlist highlighting these and other games that I think are good for new players. Don't hesitate to get back to me if you need more help and advice. Let me know how you get on! Also, I seem to gravitate to games with really good maps. Like the DDay game for example. I’d love to get my hands on that but it’s nowhere to be found for under $160. Can you think of any games with just fantastic maps that jump out?

@@MarcoScola Corsair Leader - great game! Atlantic Chase (another of my favourites) has a simple but cool map. If you don't mind playing two handed and the American Revolution interests you then the Tri-Pack from GMT is great. Other purely Solitaire games that look good on the include B-17 Flying Fortress Leader (has a large footprint and is a little 'crunchy' rule-wise), RAF from Decision games looks good on the table but is quite expensive and Malta Besieged a states of siege game has great components. Most of those games I've done playthroughs for.

Does the Corsair Leader Game work the same way as Zero Leader? This game is cool looking; DVG games are kinda pricy but this is my cup of tea. to be sure.

Hi Hammer, there are some minor differences (as do all the Air Leader games) but if you have played Corsair Leader, you shouldn't have a problem!

What if you only choose fighters or only bombers?

Hi War Table, it's all to do with picking the right team for the target (generally speaking, fighters have better AtA and bad AtG stats and vice versa for bombers). Also, bombers can't initiate dogfights and can only fire if they are disadvantaged or tailed by a bandit. I only needed bombers for this mission as there were no bandits.

Nice Play but if I’m not wrong you need to put ALL 1941 Enemycounter in a cup and draw from it 🤔. Not only the F4F.

Hi Manuel, thanks for the nice comment. Only bandits that are on the campaign sheet are put in the cup (so only F4Fs 1941 - page 13 of the rules).

@@RoughSwordsmanWargamer yeah, but in his video series chuck seegart mentioned to put ALL counters of the given year into the cup to get the right amount of diversity. It’s something I and others always struggle about. And still today after 6 campaigns I don’t know whats right 🤷🏻‍♂️

@Manuel May Hi, I've checked Chuck's videos, BGG and Facebook and it seems that's correct. The rule book seems to say otherwise, so I'm hoping this is cleared up in the 2nd printing. I'll used all '41 counters in the next video. Thanks again! 👍😊

But why? If the campaign lists only F4Fs, then why put anything else in there? It nullifies the purpose of that notation on the campaign sheet. (And historically only F4Fs were present at the battle).

@@brettlynam5048 because of the diversity of the Sites. It could happen that you only have LMG and only 3 other sites in your pool if only taking the Bandits listed. Still for putting out bandits you have to look for the aurplanes listed on the sheet. It makes the pulling process a bit longer, that for sure.

Had to watch this after all three of you (jester, tony and you) had this game on the 2022 best game list (iirc) during last weeks show. Nice video, but this game is not my cup of tea. Too much bookkeeping and modifiers to keep track off. But interesting to see how this kind of solitaire games work.
