Nice find. I would begin devaluing it on day 1 and ride it absolutely everywhere.

Its a motorbike, and needs to be ridden, and looked after, mine is number 4 used every other year 10k miles.... and not an ornament, best, well maybe yes if you want to leave as is, but if you want to ride, then no, because it will need loads of checking beforehand..... BTW was the number mentioned?

Extra Valve springs? I thought 916 = Desmo. Why would ducati supply extra valve springs at purchase? Are you sure those are not springs for the clutch plate?
@Rgh71fish13 сағат бұрын
This was my first thought too. Ducs dont have valve springs

@@Mrlogreco yes totally my mistake - was rushing to try get the video, was on maybe take 15 as kept losing my words as was trying to do too much at once. Did not even realise i had said valve springs until weeks later when video was done & even then did not notice until i had uploaded it & watched it back. Serves me right for trying to multi task. I am a man - i should know better lol.

I have an un-prepped 996R in the same state. The fasteners for the windscreen are n tiny bags sealed in with the mirrors. The silencer clamps didn't come n a bag, I think only retail and replacement ones did. Do you have the brown box all the accessories go into? Along with the bag for the dust cover and the cardboard for around the Termis? Mine has all the headlight stickers and also the sticker on the front tyre still. Very odd a rear mudguard was added. Hope you still have the original battery! - Fun fact, the odometer reading is from the calibration at the speedo factory, not push miles. What happened to the wooden crate? Did these not come with the rear display stand? Tool kit still under the seat?

@@emptymannull very nice - the one shown with the rear guard is the sub 500 mile example, you will notice the video shows 2 Ducati’s and an FP1 toward the end. The unridden example has no rear guard. Yes still has the boxed/cardboard etc for the parts, we just took the parts out to show them 😁👍

But why? Just to make money like an investment. Your money would have made more on the stock market probably and a beautiful bike would have got used and enjoyed as intended.

This is only my personal opinion and thus i may have it changed by more knowledgeable people.. This bike has been static and not used for what? 26 years now evrn if its been kept inside someones home.. If the bike has ever had fuel in it, then it will at least need a strip down of the entire system if the bike is to be used. I note the brake and clutch fluid reservoirs are full too. Those systems will also need flishing/stripping down. In fact, i would hazard a guess that the bike is pretty much an expensive ornament as after being static for over 25 years.. every seal will have deteriorated through lack of use, that should the bike be ridden, it'll spring leaks everywhere... just my opinion. Please prove me wrong!! Perhaps get Foggy himself to ride it? It would be a terrible shame if this bike was never used for it's intended purpose of personal transportation.

@@TachyonDriver the bike runs & was recommissioned in recent years. New belts, fluids etc. But now drained of fuel again. Would devalue it to add mileage now, its a piece of art now of you will. The other one in the video has a few more miles & can be used.

@@appreciatingclassics Many thanks for the update. Much appreciated.

What a waste 😢. I’d rather see one with 100,000 Miles now that would have some stories and patina

That makes me kinda sad for the bike - sort of like a stillborn baby that was never allowed a chance to breath and enjoy its life as nature intended. Pretty lame - at least they could have built it up to look like a fully assembled bike!
