@@Korrekteur It has synergy with things like Patchwork Automaton(since you get to keep replaying it), Anvil, makes it easy to crew Mukotai Soul Ripper(which has synergy with experimental synthesizer) etc. I like dragonspark reactor synergies as well but nobody likes the card lol. Fill it out with deadly disputes and perhaps a few meathook massacres and other things and you have a solid midrange-aggro deck. The format is new, but this deck puts in work in most forms.

CGB I've been waiting to see where you would take a Rakdos Anvil deck, and this did not disappoint. I'll post below my favorite flavor of rakdos anvil, it features a few strong wincons that are all synergistic with one another. It generates a lot of value, and can grind through control as well. Against the bard class deck, you shouldn’t have played the hook. Put a stop on end step. Stensia resolves, shoot them for 7. Then use anvil.

@@lukastymoczko3826 No it's not. Its activated ability to sac an artifact to drain 1 can be activated at any time. Its only restriction is that it only triggers the 1/1 creation on your turn (and only once per turn).

I've had surprising success at Diamond running this type of Oni Cult deck in a lower curve combined with 4x Dragonspark Reactor. Oni's drain ability combined with the insane reach you're given on all the Reactor triggers.

Yeah Dragonspark Reactor just felt correct. Stensia Uprising felt too slow. My biggest issue with this deck is that I feel like I want one or two big top ends but I'm not sure what they could be. I've tried Mukotai, I've tried Sorin, Lolth, nothing feels quite right.

Game 6, the lethal puzzle answer: don't play the land. (you can also just not play massacre like you said and sac the anvils to each other, but it's important to remember lands with uprising) Opponent is tapped out at 11 Swing with 3 1 power creatures, setting opponent at 8 Sac one token creature with anvil, dealing 1 damage to the opponent, setting them to 7, spawning 2 more tokens (for a net gain of one permanent). This leaves you with 5 lands, 2 anvils, 3 anvil tokens, and 1 uprising token = 11 permanents. Play Uprising (12 permanents), move to end step, make a token (13 permanents) and ping for 7 giving you game You just don't play the land or the massacre, who needs them. Deck looks sick though, I was trying to build this in uncommon + common only for some budget brewing (had to inclue massacre since I had them). I've been playing enough Kamigawa limited though pretty much the only rares I'm missing are the uprising + a bit of a mana base, I'm really tempted to make this... the only thing holding me back was the sheer exhilerating rollercoaster of your 7 win mono blue run a few days ago, but I'm like 12 rares off that lol. I believe missplay at min 59 was, if you don not play meethook you would had 12 permanents and when the uprising token comes 13 permanents and 7 damage, sac one token to anvil and you get lethal damage

enjoyed the video a lot as usual! Only thing i’m not convinced by is the Field of ruin. A deck that has both double red and double black requirements i don’t think can afford to play a colorless land. You didn’t lose any games because of it, but there were definitely some mulligans and some awkward turns because of the colorless land. The last game for example might have been different if the opponent hadn’t also had to mulligan, so maybe that was a little lucky? Hard to know. Still, fun deck and video!!

Pretty sure you can respond to the etb trigger of meathook with anvil before it kills your stuff if you hold priority. This let's you drain for 2 when you play it when a 1/1 artifact is already out. That little bit of extra value could win you games,

Shouldn't have played the meat hook if you want 12 permanent at the beginning of your end step. 58:15 So, did CGB had lethal, missed lethal (by putting down the meathook causing too many permanents as CGB explained in the video), and opponent gave up anyways? I guess this is another approach to Rakdos Sac you can do, but it seems too slow when the other slow decks just are better options. I feel like the strength of Rakdos and Anvil, is to be a much more aggressive sacrifice shell (e.g. Soulripper and Bloodcaster to create more sac fodder and go over the top of the other token decks).

as a cat oven player, man i gotta say anvil isn't cat oven. Oven with mayhem devil after a call, korvold, trail, etc you were getting spot removal, poke damage, card draw, life, so much value as you buff up a flyer. Im absolutely sure theres a way to get a rakdos or jund anvil deck going that can live up to OG cat oven and Kroxa Oven.

Why the heck does the Standard Event que work seemingly random. But all other ques are algortigmic wastelands. Had a 2 month paus and got bronze. Thought Id play some historic low power jank woth my Shrine deck. 60% of all games are against powerful Green Elf decks. 30% against that blue red deck that dumps Pheonixes in the graveyard and get them back with casting several spells. 10% is whatever else. I have a hard time seeing thats the real meta at bronze II ....

This deck seems like a weird mish mash of cards that don't really work that well together despite the fact you won with it. My biggest gripe is the fact that Anvil can't sac creatures so it seems out of place with Uprising and Lolth. Either go full on tokens and ditch the artifact subtheme or lean more towards the Anvil with cards like Experimental Synthesizer. At least that has been my observation with trying to brew around the Anvil and as you said there is still no definitive list.

While this is probably the better version (consistent), I propose a thought.... If you made a mardu version of this deck what do you try to get? March/rite of oblivion give you a major boost to removal choices. Is there anything else worth looking at to at least experiment with this idea?

I don't think the White really adds anything to the deck. If your main goal is to add more exile effects, Eaten Alive and Baleful Mastery are both mono-Black cards that do the job. Eaten Alive has the added bonus of triggering the anvil if you sacrifice an artifact creature, like Rite.

doesn’t get better than CGB finding a way to win vs goblins with a goldspan dragon up top while down to one life opponent at 20. Cherry on top was to get final point for win off calling draw to be anvil then sac blood token to be right draw oni anvil to sac itself for final 1 damage ping to their face and drink tears of goblins as they shuffle off in defeat.
