lots of yakking but no info i was looking for, power, speed and how far can you go. i think that's what were really interested in. does it feel like a 125 or a 600 on steroids? will it go 20 miles on a full charge or 1000 miles? whats the top speed? 30 mph or 120? how about 0 to 60?
@AlexSimmons11c4 жыл бұрын
Range depends a lot on the battery option you go with, which is why it's hard to talk about haha. On the 7.2 it'll go about 100 miles also depending on how much you are in the throttle. Top speed I never reached as I focused on the offroad riding, which is what most people asked me for with this model. Feels like you're riding a VERY light 450cc motocross bike.

What about how it handles off road? I'm considering one but I'm a bigger guy. So I need like a 450 high out put off road to really get it. You mentioned its similar to a 250-650 duel sport. Those are vastly different. Also no talk of range at all really.
@AlexSimmons11c4 жыл бұрын
The offroad handling is basically what you would expect from a 250 dual sport, think along the lines of a WR250 or similar. The power was more in line with a 400cc+ bike especially torque off the bottom, this thing was all torque. And as far as range it varies SOOOOO much I didn't want to make promises...plus it depends on the power pack you go with. On the standard battery I get 100-120 miles out of a charge...that being said I'm not being too much of an ass with the throttle most of the time.

Thanks for the overview. But like you allready sayd in the video. it's a general overview. i am hoping in the nex video's to see some in depts testing an comparisations. Here in Belgium we don't get to test-ride a zero FX/FXS which is really sad because this could be my next bike after my Electric KTM Freeride E-XC - Battery range when off roading 'full throttle' - Battery range when riding in town 'full throttle' - battery ranges off road and in town when baby'ing the throttle? - how long does it takes to charge a full cycle? - How is the throttle handling? custom setups possible? - Do you have all the torque from standstill or is is the torque limited for some reason? - How does the bike compare to KTM-Freeride E-XC (accelleration wise) - And finally, is it a fun bike? (how easilly does it wheelie?) Thanks a lot. keep up the good work.
@AlexSimmons11c5 жыл бұрын
I'll use that as a checklist for a more in-depth review for sure! The only thing that might be hard is the comparison with the KTM, because I can't guarantee that I will be able to get my hands on the KTM Freeride to do the comparison at that time. But I will try!

I've heard belt drive is a problem for dirt riding. What's your take?
@AlexSimmons11c4 жыл бұрын
I haven't found it to be an issue for dual purpose, like this is really meant for. In a true all-offroad bike I would still probably go chain, but you can get sand and rocks in a chain as well, that's usually the concern with the belt is getting debris in between the belt and pulleys. I really don't see it as a major issue, but everyone will have their preference!

Zero sells a chain conversion kit for about $350.00 US.
@palmegranite13183 жыл бұрын
A carbon fiber belt drive typically lasts 3x that of a chain, can never rust, no links to wear or stretch. When dirty, just hose it clean. It's a huge step up from a chain.

Can I ride the Zero FXS on my CBT licence even if I only passed on a scooter and not a geared bike ?
@AlexSimmons11c4 жыл бұрын
That's a really tough question to answer, it will depend on how your particular state or local law handles that difference in the license. For example some states/areas define it specifically as a scooter license if you pass on a scooter, some define it as a license to ride an automatic motorcycle. For example here someone can pass on a scooter, and can also ride a can-am Spyder or Ryker. It will be a question for your local license authority because it differs!

@AlexSimmons11c4 жыл бұрын
As long as you get something with a 14.4 battery setup you should be just fine, they tend to get plenty of range for your commute so long as you get that setup, especially in any of the more street oriented models! For your purposes I would look at something in the S, SR, or DS families!
