I always found it weird that X canonically has circuits under his helmet instead of hair like Megaman, thought that since y'know, he was the first truly free thinking Machine that was supposed to be treated like a person, and he doesn't even get like a casual outfit like Megaman, (or other robot masters for that matter) he's just always in his Armor. Something that y'know always shows you that he's a robot, even in the zero era when reploids got more human bodies, X still always had Armor on him.

From what I understand X does have hair, and it goes over all the circuitry we saw in flashbacks. We just never ever see it because the team couldn't decide what hairstyle to give him.

As far as I know the designs of X and Zero without hair under their helmets were for toys so we shouldn´t take them as canon. After see the more human-like bodies in Dive it seems that they can change their bodies if they want so they must to have hair.

I'm not sure how canon it is, but in Mega Man X4 manga, there's one panel where X removes his helmet and he has hair in similar style as MegaMan/Rock. But since his face is obscured by the sun and the monochrome coloring of manga, it's unknown how his front bangs look like or what his hair color is.

In some concept art for action figures he has no hair under his helmet because of all the wiring and neuronal stuff (technically his brain), but in some interviews the designers said that he does has hair, but they just didn't figured out what hair style to give him. My headcannon is that he has short black hair, it gives a nice color scheme with any of his armors.

? I thought the canon ending is the one with X having the Z saber. After all, only that ending leadd to X6 (where he still has the Z saber) and Zero 1 (where X gives the saber back to Zero).

The elisium ending where X talks of a new city where all mankind and reploid can exist in harmony and he completely forgets about zeros existence IS the true cannon ending as inufane intended. Zero was supposed to be put into a stasis and then reawaken in the upcoming GBA zero series (his masterpeice mind you) and the "X Series" was to end with X5 and a breif multi game saga revoling around the elf wars was supposed to be made between 99 and 2001 as the bridge to the zero series. HOWEVER! THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. For as we all painfully know X6 was born. Inufane was never going to make it, it was not in the plans, ever. Capcom LITERALLY went behind his back to make a cash grab game, while he was on vacation and made that game in 3 months WITHOUT HIM EVEN KNOWING IT EXISTED. He only became aware of ts existence when a journalist called him and asked him about it.

@@Phoenixesper1 "As Inafune intended". Concepts that never materialized are not canon. At the end of the day, Capcom owns Mega Man and not Infaune. Also how does that ending work with Mega Man Zero? X clearly knows Zero at the begging of MMZ1. Maybe Inafune wanted wanted the "X forgets Zero" ending to be canon when he originally concieved Mega Man Zero to have X as the final boss and leader of Neo Arcadia, but again thats not the game we got. As mentioned before, the other X5 ending has X still with Zero's memories and his Z Saber. Which neatly leads to MMZ1's opening with X returning the saber to Zero (or it would've until MMZ3 when the Elf Wars established that Zero woke up in his copy body to fight Omega before going back to sleep). In the end though, I've never heard an interview of Inafune saying what the canon ending of X5 was meant to be, let alone plans for an Elf Wars series.

@@Phoenixesper1 Mega Man was the work of multiple people. It wasn't simply Inafune single-handedly making everything. Mega Man had Akira Kitamura and X had Hayato Kaji. Many others would add their input that would ultimately make the characters and stories we love. You're entitled to your opinion, but it makes no sense to promote it as the true canon to others when it literally isn't.
