Tip for alts: Get the portal to the ED. Get the Worthy Ally Quest. Take the portal from ED to OP e begin the questline. When you progress to the central hub, you get 2500 rep, completing the worthy ally quest.

I am getting back to the game after 2 years out. I play a healer, mistweaver monk, and I am thinking about getting the 70 boost and following this process. Is it possible (while still in the healer spec)? Or would you recommend switching to wind walker and set the gear loot to MW?

I think it is overall easier to quest as a healer currently than it was when you stopped playing, however, for speeds sake you would best be off as DPS or Tank.

aren't catalyst charges time gated? how did you get enough to convert all those pieces to tier gear in 1 go?

This is possible because we are converting tier from season 2, not three. So charges are no longer used as of prepatch 10.2. If you have the gear that was mentioned, you should not require charges. In case it is asking for charges, then you are trying to convert S3 gear.

Hey, you can get more pieces from coalescence by just farming 100 per token or get 437 ilvl gear from Mythic 0 Dawn of Infinites. Gear from the fyrakk assault as well as zaralek caverns elites should also be able to convert

@@shallan-rawl You can get more pieces by using 100 coalescence and buying them from the other vendor next to Hamul, but they will be on the explorer track, not adventurers like the weekly tokens. That means you can upgrade them to 437 ilvl, but they are still able to be converted.

I’m understanding it as 4 piece tier of season 2 tier, since explorer and adventure gear seem to be on that track. Then the times we get above that; veteran/champion/etc, will be season 3 tier and that’s what we can only get one every two weeks

And this is why I have zero care to play retail. This is very confusing to me. Just getting enough gear from dungeons and then doing the raid used to be very easy and straight forward. Now you have to do this and I don't know what any of it means.

You don't have to do this at all. This is just for min-max at the last minute for alts. You can alternatively just do dungeons or raid when the season contents are out.

As mentioned, this is if you want to be sweaty to get ready for raid day one or push keys. You should be able to get gear even from heroics from S3 start.

I get you man, but the thing that helps the most is getting a guild. If you get into a guild you enjoy, you can still only do dungeons and raids to get gear. My guild's looking a bit dead rn so my alts will be going the m+ healer route to circumvent all these convoluted questing and event schemes.
