Nice review, and thanks for doing so! Buying this blade tomorrow, and your review helped me to pull the trigger. Stay safe out there, and a gigantic *thank you* for your service!

I agree - $280 is a lot for a knife. But the Hinderer version sells quite well at around $500 and it's virtually the same knife with only a slightly cooler logo

That is a very good review. Is the detent hard to trigger?

Reliquat thanks! No not at all. It’s strong enough to hold the blade closed, but not difficult at all to overcome and get the blade open.

Well mine came with a super super strong detent I actually had to take apart the knife and push the lock bar to the clip side to fix it. It was pushing my blade off center towards the center portion of the blade but the tip was centered because it was pushing so hard on the detent ball when closed. It was very freakin snappy but hard to shut before I changed it.

I've found that in most of my ball-bearing, framelock-flippers, a loose pivot screw can cause the knife to appear to be off center in the manner you've described, and in many of them, repeated flipping and closing of the blade has a way of working the pivot loose slowly over time. I have found blue loctite to be useful to keep the pivot dialed just right where the blade lies dead center when closed but upon actuation of the flipper tab it will fire open with authority and perhaps most important of all - hold firm against the lockbar with no blade play in either direction

Never was a fan of the Hinderer "spanto" blade.. either make it a tanto or a bowie. That's why that line you spoke of is in the blade. Rick Hinderer thought it would be cute to make his own "hybrid tanto". Not a fan at all.
