I wouldn't call a 1/2" wrench proprietary hardware, its more common than torx lol. But yeah i agree on everything else. I really wish ZT would make a big comback. The 0308 is probably my favorite from them. I also have the 0630 and 0562.

You are right it's not proprietary, but, it's definitely not common on a knife. Doesn't bother me tho I think I've gotten used to it and enjoy it being different in some small way

Seems like back in 2019, I believe this was the year of the bugout and shortly after the bailout...right before the slip joint craze, came the mini phase. I remember talking with Brian Nadeau about it. You've owned a tempest so I'm sure you've talked to Brian...always a pleasure. Anyway, he had just gotten his Reate deal and he was telling me about how everything was getting smaller and he wasn't sure exactly what he was going to do to compete. After that every blade hq video that was coming out was about some smaller Pilar or Vox design...something to that effect. Everything started getting smaller and I just stopped buying for a little while. The last ZT I ordered...I can not remember the number to save my life but it was about the size of the bugout...I remember looking at the box that said Overbuilt...and dying a little bit inside. Long live the days of a Les George 0920 is all I have to say. Back when $170 would get you a 20cv titanium framed piece of art.

I got this knife used in brand new condition for under 200 bucks which is why I use it as my edc knife including at work, maybe if I would have paid full price I would have hesitated on taking it out in the elements till it got some wear but it seems to do just fine despite the window, once in a while I can feel a little sand in the action but it seems to make its own way out after opening the knife a couple times

Have alot of heavy hitters and didn't see any new releases coming out from ZT lately. ALOT OF youtubers started that whole spine wack and truly believe that put a hurting on the company as a hard use knife or overbuilt knives and it sucks because it seems like the Chinese knife companies with there drop shut on bearings knives took over the last few years. When ZT was truly just American made and in reach of price were alot collectors and knife guy's and the community ate it up. They do really good action titanium frame locks and I own a bunch. Hopefully they come out with a fresh jump back in this thing we all love. There old school Strider colab was what i started in to the knife game and was a grail knife back 2006 2007 when i started my way down the rabbit hole now most knives are 3inch or under and 2 ounces which ok some peaple have to most just follow the leader i really collect big ass blades have 2xl glove size zt always made comfortable knives to fill that need maybe it's time they sit and get there shit together and start knocking it out of the park again . Man that is the question huh. What or who happened over there at ZT. Really wish they would at least make more designs. The seem to be settling more mediocre same ol stuff Well besides the weird and not appealing to me newer stuff. I was a big ZT guy in the past.
