Really nice job. I am doing the same thing and very glad for your trailblazing. Next I am on to repacking all the bearings.

Awesome repair those engine's are notorious for those bolts backing out and causing that issue ✔️💯👍🏽

I had no idea! I'm starting to think I should retorque the bolts just in case. Thanks for watching!

Great video. 👍 Just hope you swapped over the charge system from your old engine to the replacement because if the correct charge system isn't used then your going to have the issue of your battery dying on you while your blades are on . Just make sure it's strong enough to run your clutch and charge your battery at the same time.

Thanks for watching and thanks for the tip! I did not swap the charge system, but so far it's been working great and charging the battery.

Great video! Exactly what I needed to tackle this swap. I'm not sure about the pile of oily rags in the corner of the shop though!!! LOL Sounds like a pretty big fire hazard :D

Thanks for watching! It's a pretty straightforward process, biggest thing I'd do different is definitely clean/degrease first :)

I would replace head gasket and sump gasket before sticking it in Seems they leak like crazy
@ballhammerindustries2 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, normally on an older engine I would, but this one had really low hours on it and hasn't started leaking yet, and if it does develop a leak it's easy enough to yank out again and fix it.

I'm sorry but I have no idea, I would start with double checking the electrical connections and make sure they are all doing what they are supposed to be doing, same with grounds. Good luck!
@philliphall51982 жыл бұрын
That’s how I do all old engines I swap out because they will expect you to warranty it

Luckily I just do work for myself, so if I have issues it's my own fault! :)

simple green eats metal
@ballhammerindustries6 ай бұрын
I've used simple green for decades on metal and have never had an issue, even using it in it's concentrated form. I have heard of people that use it in sonic cleaners and it discolors aluminum

Those motors are junk bombs waiting to explode. Get another brand.

I don't disagree, if it were up to me I would really like to try the Kawasaki vertical V-twins. In this instance I got both the mower and donor motor for so cheap it's hard to go wrong, I'll run it until it blows then ill move on to the next. Thanks for watching!

Yep changing the motor on one now. Got a crack in the block thats about 6 or 7 inches. Left side from the back by push rod. Same motor. Crazy 😂
