You might think each sunflower is just a single bloom, but each flowerhead is actually made up of up to two thousand florets. These tiny flowers are packed full of nectar, making them a great treat for bees as well.
Almost every part of this flower is edible including young leaves which can be cooked like spinach and the whole head could be roasted when still fresh.
Making butter with sunflower seeds it’s a great healthy alternative to peanut butter and you could make it savoury or sweet depending on your taste.

I remember my grandmother drying the stems and using them as stick for climbing crops like tomatoes, cucumbers and beans in the next year. They could be used for 3 to 4 years and it's cheaper than buying wooden stakes. She had them around anyways because she liked how sunflowers looked and how they bring in useful insects and later birds.

Having randomly seen one of your videos and your frugal way of living, I randomly took 3 chili seeds while cooking and planted them. They had sprouted and after a 1st harvest they currently have 10 chilis. The thought that 3 little seeds made more and I didn’t pay for them just blew my mind. I now have herbs, micro greens, fruits and other plants along with flowers growing in my house. Seems simple, but I discovered I got not only my mothers green thumb but a common understanding of loving nature and the connection between man and plant. Love your content and I hope to produce and grow more thanks to you.

Me anything I planted that "didn't fit the aesthetic" she uprooted, i liked planting edible plants and she liked "pretty" and good smelling plants, now I just grow native trees like chestnuts on milk plastic bottles, and plant them in spring near any natural areas, add some rocks around the base and done, tried planting near the city and gardeners uprooted the 12 of them, take months to grow and care for and boom... dead, I hope people stopped just planting "pretty plants" and planted useful ones...

I definitely like your vids. Youre voice is very relaxing and your content very inspiring. I'll be giving it a try on a tight spaced appartment (no balcony) Nice you inspired your mom with an awesome tattoo!

An interesting fun fact about sunflowers for you all.. Sunflowers clean the soil of radioactivity. A sunflower does not discriminate between radioactivity and certain nutrients. Oftentimes the radioactive isotope mimics the naturally-occurring nutrient. Sunflowers then pull the isotope out of the soil and into their stems and leaves, effectively cleaning the soil.

I grew up and stopped liking peanut butter and jelly. But once I found sunflower butter at Walmart it's so good and moist. That I don't even use jelly on the bread.
