I feel so stupid. I was just trying to make a lantern and then stumbled upon this channel and this video. I tried making a lantern out of simple forms like the cylinder and stuff and just applying bevels. This is SO MUCH EASIER and WAY MORE PRECISE!!

Alright then! Welcome aboard the channel. Please poke around and see if there is anything here that is useful to you. Its not crazy hard stuff, just fun and easy. I also have some Blender challenges going on you might like to try. Have fun!

Never used screw modifier before. Thank you for showing me its use. This is one of the few tutorials I've enjoyed watching even though there was very little narration. Keep up the good work,Elliot.😇👍

Good morning zerobio, just one tip to make you save some little extra work: if you are extruding something that´s not a complete face, like 1-3 vertices, there is no need to press g since you can move that extruded vertices freely as if you pressed g on an extruded face :) great modelling as always :D

I noticed that along the way as I was doing this. But I tend to revert back to my old school ways :). Thanks.

To extrude a vertex you can use Ctrl+Rightclick. I like the project, thanks for sharing.

Im lost from the start haha, i try to drag that blue arrow up to the top of the lantern but it brings the grey in front of the image
@zerobio3 жыл бұрын
Just try again, follow my steps and see if you can get everything to work. Make sure you merge all the points of the plane to the center and then drag that point up to the top of the lantern. Also, you may have the plane in the wrong orientation (ie. looking from a different view) so just rotate it until you get things correct and it all works. Good luck!
@gageadavis3 жыл бұрын
@@zerobio yeah I think it is the merge I am messing up, as its still just grabbing a portion of the plate, thanks I'll.keep at it

@@gageadavis Good stuff! You can do this! Good luck and let me know if you have success or if you have any other concerns.
