ZeroBreeze Mark2 Discount code included: Small Trailer + AC = Does it work??

We purchased the Mark 2 a/c earlier this year to use in our 9’ Hiker Trailer. We recently used it for a 22-day camping adventure that included warm humid nights in Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma with evening max temperatures reaching the mid-80’s. We stayed at AC (electric) provided campgrounds and would begin cooling off the Hiker cabin about an hour before bedtime. My wife and I had no complaints at all about being warm overnight and we even turned airflow down from mid-range to low setting in the early morning hours on a couple occasions. The Mark 2 seems effective in removing humidity as it would on average pull out 2/3rds of a gallon of water overnight. We bought our Hiker to get out of the Texas heat in summer, but I am considering a campout in the driveway to see how the Mark 2 holds up on a sweltering summer night when using its battery. One lesson learned is to confirm the Mark 2 is positioned 5 to 10 degrees nose high (per the manual) or you will have a big water mess in the morning.

Nice to see one of these set up properly in a teardrop. I will be interested in if it helps for sleeping at night. It is not designed to cool the camper during the day.

The newer ones are heat pumps that will do both heating and cooling. I looked at these things last year but decided not to buy one. To make these things run all night without wall power, they need a huge battery, something like 2+kWh. And that's on the low setting. Good luck charging that with solar the next day unless you bring some larger panels with you. And what if it's cloudy the next day? Also, the other company, whose name escapes me, designed their system so you need their battery. If you had a spare 48V battery laying around, or found a cheap 48V battery, it wouldn't work because their unit needs to talk with the battery. I think there's a way to use a non-OEM battery with the Zero Breeze but I haven't confirmed that. If you have electric hookups, it would be much cheaper to jerryrig a cheap Walmart window air conditioner with ducts. These things would have to come way down in price before I would consider buying one. If humidity is the big effect, I would see if I could find a dehumidifier I could make portable. They're probably a lot cheaper than a heat pump.

How much condensate does it produce? It looks like it works in a simpler manner than the wave 2 that has to be set to make it drain away from the unit. It seems to be far more intuitive regarding the controls, etc....Thanks for the review!

You are not helping the pocketbook! I looked at the Zero Breeze at Moore and the sales guy didn't really sell me on the unit. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on how well it cools the Hiker. I've heard mixed reports on (based on the temp outside) how well it cools even a space that small. Some had said it only cools about 15 degrees less than outside temp. I'm probably going to pull the trigger soon on something as MO summers are HOT!

Hey! I started watching your videos as well as the DeWitt’s. It was nice to see someone with a Hiker in the STL area. My wife and I are looking into building one out, but we have debated on adding the AC (among other things). We’d be very interested in knowing what you decide on. These MO summers are brutal! Pretty sure STL has more humidity than a rain forest too. Haha

Does this cool better or equal to the roof top AC Hiker offers?

The roof top is overkill for these trailers but the portable ones are not quite there yet. This one can take the humidity out and make it more comfortable to sleep but if it is hot during the day it won't be able to keep up.

It sounds like it will cool it down 15-20* and remove the humidity. I won't expect it to make the trailer comfortable in those kind of day time temps
