I wish I knew about this when the Wave 2 came out. Found out even though EcoFlow markets outdoor rating of Wave 2, they will not warranty water damage from rain. Fine print in manual says to not expose to water and I confirmed this with their support. If I can leave it outside the tent and/or run it off an external 3rd party battery this is the better option for those who haven't purchased yet.

Generally they use the water to blow onto the condenser to make it more efficient. Is the unit water resistant?
@BaptismOverland4 ай бұрын
So this unit I didn't get to test that. But I know my Mark 2 is cuz I've had it outside when it rained pretty hard and it kept on ticking. They won't advertise that obv but I'm assuming if the Mk2 was then I can only hope this one will be too

I would have loved to see how well it heated your garage, and how much water it "harvested" since it's advertised for drinking water.
@BaptismOverland Жыл бұрын
Garage wouldn't be a good place for it. Not enough insulation. Water wise, I got about 3/4 of a gallon.
@garrettscott4094 Жыл бұрын
Thank! Glad to know it collects a usable amount of water. The garage may have been too big but still a heat test would have been nice, even just to get your thoughts on it. I mean after all you are the guy who sat on a shelf, suction cuped to his window in the name of "testing". I'm sure your hands were tied a bit especially with this being a prototype model, I simply am just noting that a more detailed hands on review is more what I am accustomed to getting out of your videos.

Drinking water? Might be funny tasting, but guess you do breath it in the air, so now you drink it in your stomach which is likely better than in lungs. Cool, free water.

For the charging I’m trying to see if it will charge on my 24v system??? And if I can charge it via solar how big can I go in watt and volts for the solar array to keep it charged while using it.?
@BaptismOverland9 ай бұрын
Honestly don't have the answers to that as they didn't give me all the specifics yet. This was also a prototype I had to return after the review
@pearlrival31248 ай бұрын
battery charging specifics: does it charge while discharging? can it charge with a solar array up to 60v? where and what type of charging ports. surely it wont release as ac power/charging only when everything we run is dc. are the dimensions stated with or without the included battery? will the unit be repriced before release. lets face it the wave 2 currently owns the market, and considering they are much cheaper with detailed software i wouldnt even consider this legitimate competition without a price war.
@BaptismOverland7 ай бұрын
Honestly I don't have the answer to that yet. I was given the unit without a lot of specs as it was a prototype and then shipped it to the next content creator. Once it's fully out I'll have more info which I'm hoping is soon

As far as Wave2, I can tell you that has issues as well. I know people who owned one and switched to the ZB.. ZB has been around a long time As far as size I did show comparison with the battery attached to the original one they had

How is the weight without battery? Is it about the same as mark 2? The EcoFlow Wave 2 is $800 right now on amazon and only weights 32lbs

On AC how much wattage did it draw??
@AquaTech225 Жыл бұрын
Mine pulls about 238ish on max I believe. I run mine combined with its battery pack. A with the Bluetti AC200p 2,000 watt solar generator. With 4 200 watt solar panels. In the Louisiana summer. Well later in the summer. I don’t much in the day. Because it would be hard. Least for a tent even for a bigger unit to keep cooled really good. Other than cooling myself directly on me. But otherwise towards the evening I was turning it on full blast. Getting myself a whatever else inside the tent cooled down some. And a little score going to sleep. I would I would take it off of boost. An put it in regular cooling mode. An put that fan on like number 3. For the night. An it would have it cool or cold it it were on you. But for that I made sure the tent was in a shaded area. A between the tent roof and rain fly. I rigged 3 moving blankets to hang against the tent. To kinda block off the screen from the outside. An to kinda insulate it as best I were able to. But I had that a one of them 12 can or whatever fridge/freezers on the tent with the solar generator to keep them out of the day time sun and heat. An have 65’ color panel power cords. So I had more than enough reach to have the panels out in the sun wherever it may of been. But. Was able to keep them other items out of the sun.

The MKIII is not compatible with the OGT Expedition 2 or 3, unfortunately, so if you're an owner of one of these trailers like I am, it will not work and you'll need to hang on to your MKII. I have been speaking to Sean from ZB since the MKIII's inception and kept being promised that the batteries between the II and III would be compatible and the form factor would stay the same. Neither of these promises turned out to be true.
@BaptismOverland Жыл бұрын
Yeah he told me the same and then later told me it wasn't going to be. Idk what happened there.
@AquaTech225 Жыл бұрын
They wouldn’t do that. That would be too big a loss of money. Maybe they figured they would still keep enough buyers that wouldn’t go the way of the Wave 2 even if the batteries didn’t work. So they weighed their options make the previous batteries work. Or make them not work an hope their estimates an thoughts of how many would jump ship on the brand wouldn’t be enough that they would still be more than enough profitable
