Thank you for the review Alex! We're happy to hear you enjoyed the overall gameplay so much! Just wanted to say that we are developing/will have "True Solo" for the game. And yes, the "image loading" does mean the art will be coming, we just didn't have it for the prototype 🙃

Never in my life have I heard anyone call it an X, but now it has been by 3 different reviewers, all of who are old enough to know the extension. Not sure where that is coming from.

I do remember having exe files. Reader Rabbit, Captain Crunch's Crunchling Adventure, Roller Coaster Tycoon 2, Warcraft 2, Age of Empires 2, Command & Conquer Generals, and Minecraft are all games with exe files I remember from growing up (in that order if I recall correctly). Then our family got out of computers for a while. Then I finally got Steam in 2017 while at college after buying a heavily discounted clearance office desktop at Walmart during break.

I feel like a lot of time was spent talking about how this was a prototype and that things will change and improve, but then making nitpicky comments about the prototype components and having that affect the overall score. It felt weird to have a seemingly positive review spend nearly twice as long with negatives as positives.

Looks like they cancelled the campaign due to lack of funding. The concept looks cool, and the game looks fun, but I agree some things seem like they still need some work like UI, board sizes, start of turn draw (why isn’t that at the end of turn??). Also, the lack of any story (per the campaign page) is a real bummer, especially for an adventure / crawl type game with a thematic world. There will be a revised campaign in 2025, so hopefully they are taking all the feedback and improving the game!

Alex, you seem too young to know about exe files yourself. :) I think I would have pronounced it "EKS-eh" or maybe "dot EKS-eh".

man i think im younger (maybe same age) as him, and remember writing bat files for some basic scripting and attempting to modify the qbasic gorilla game replacing the banana with a ball ( but couldnt get ever get it right) when i was like 7 years old. .
