I viewed a video that said putting the ABL mounting it on the side instead of the top will give you a more accurate reading. I think it reads more horizontally when on the side.

I've got the ATN LTV 5-20 and it's a good scope only it's not as complicated as the 4k Pro and from what i can see using a ballistics calculator is a lot of messing around so it's a good job that i just stick with shooting at 30 yards
@countryboy3602 жыл бұрын
Understand that. Kinda wish I had the more simple one since I never go over 50 yards.

Can you see the ABL lazer (red dot)through the scope when zeroing it? I am trying to zero mine and it is invisible through the scope. It can still be zeroed this way but there is no information stating this anywhere? Every video I watch it sure seems people can see the red dot through the scope. I assure you,,I cannot see it. The red dot is on the bullseye and so are the crosshairs. I have zeroed it with a lock down gun rest.

@@countryboy360 Figured I would come back to say when using a thermal scope you cannot see the laser thru the scope. It took me a week to find that information. lol It can still be zeroed pretty easily but that would have been a good thing to know.

I’m having trouble understanding my x sight 4K pro. And the zeroing do I change the zero yard option when I get out to 50 or do I leave it at 20
@countryboy360 Жыл бұрын
You will leave it at 20. When you zero make sure the ballistics calculator is off. After you zero at 20 turn it on. Range your target and work out to 50 so you don’t have an arrow go a crazy. When you get to 50 and shot a bolt you will then change your feet per second to adjust. After you fine tune that you should be good. I hope that this is clear. If not let me know and I’ll find away to get you my number and talk you through it. Thanks for watching.
@willdungeon7633 Жыл бұрын
@@countryboy360 did you have to keep changing the zero range when you moved out to say 50 and past. At 50 yards my radical is at the very bottom of the screen and I can’t go past 50
@countryboy360 Жыл бұрын
@@willdungeon7633 No. It stays at 20. So zero at 20 with ballistic cal off. After zero, turn on ballistic cal. Range target at 50 with ABL. Shoot at 50. Move your ft sec up or down in speed to get it hitting the 50 yard where you want. After that you should be good to range it with ABL and fire. I was good to 125 with mine.

Do you have to keep the zoom at zero or minimal or can you use the zoom on the scope and still have it adjust accordingly?

Zero with zoom at minimal. After that you can adjust to full and it will still be good and will adjust accordingly.

I was thinking about doing this on my crossbow. It looks very heavy. I am a mobile hunter. What are your thoughts on the additional weight?

It’s a great setup for blinds or tree stands. I would not go humping through the woods with it. Like you said it’s heavy and will hook on any tree limb you walk pass.

Great Video, I just got the ABL 1000 for my crossbow. I happen to love my ATN x-sight 4k 5x20x. I have it mounted on the wicked ridge nxt 400. I'm using the centerpunch x evo arrows. I can hit the target in the center with every shot while sitting in the BOG tripod with these settings. Zero: Drag: G1 Ballistic Function: .08 Bullet Weight: 403 grains Muzzle Velocity: 410 feet/sec Zero Range: 20 yards Sight Height: 3.50 inch

Where are you finding the ballistics info for your bolts to add into zero profile?
@countryboy3602 жыл бұрын
I watched a couple of other videos and used their examples to come up with mine. What crossbow do you have? On my TenPoint Turbo that is rated at 375f/s I ended with these numbers. Drag-G1 Ballistic Function- .06 Bullet Weight- 420 grains. I weighed my bolt with broad head. Muzzle Velocity- 365ft/s. Started at 375f/s. At my 50 yard I had to adjust and ended here at 365f/s Zero Range- 20 yards Sight Height- 3.25. Measure from center of arrow to center of scope. Hope this helps. I’ll help you any way I can. I also zeroed in a TenPoint Siege RS410. Works great.
