Yooo i made the unwise decision of starting vol12 while eating breakfast. It was an emotional rollercoaster those first few pages. The Holy Kingdom Arc is deffo my favorite arc so far, tho Vol 10 is my favorite overall, followed by Vol 14. It blew my mind how the wildest events are AFTER season 3. Like, "yo animeonlys are missing out, theyre gonna lose their shit when this gets anmated!"

This will be a rather of a small spoiler of the upcoming Overlord movie and the main reason why it was turned into a movie: it's brutal. I mean real brutal. It's the most brutal arc of Overlord as a whole. It's more brutal than the worker arc. I almost spilled my guts out on one of its chapters. I'm not gonna say anything any more. Killing the child was actually the most illogical thing to do. Ainz' reasoning was that it would prevent them from taking more hostages. That just means they'll resort to wholesale slaughter instead. He didn't save anyone.

​@@weirdart1638 In real life, you stop people from taking hostages from simply not giving into their demands. Not giving them what they want *naturally* deters them. If police killed a hostage because 'sacrifices have to be made' it would make them very hated very fast. Ainz would've gotten a zero approval rating for doing that and made humanity hate him irrevocably. The correct thing to do is negotiate them into a position where you can take them out without harming the hostage. Convince them that it's futile. Never actually giving them what they want. Ainz could've demonstrated that the paladin's ideals should never leave them to inaction, instead idealism should be pursued with a degree of rationality to achieve their goals.

@@MrPotatoTitanFirstly, unlike a real life hostage situation the ENTIRE northern half of the Holy Kingdom is subjected in a constant state of misery and oppression by demi humans which means the liberation army cant afford to waste time talking to literal monsters. Secondly, Ainz acknowledged that the liberation army in general is nothing more than a poorly made militia movement with little to no resources to trade or barter in exchange for the enslaved people. Thirdly, the demi-humans (despite having higher intelligence than animals) are savage and hate humans in general which means you cant negotiate with them because to demi humans strength is all that matters to them Fourthly, negotiations with demi humans is futile since most of them see humans as nothing more than a really weak species/livestock Lastly, most people in the liberation army knows that this is a war and we all know that there is no such thing as a war with no casualties/sacrifices, further more the humans have no obligation to fight fair when the demi humans are not fighting fair to begin with

​@@weirdart1638 negotiating is just a way to buy time. The aim isn't to give them anything but to stall them until you can remove the hostages from danger. The liberation army doesn't need resources. The Demi-humans don't need to know that. If the Demi-humans are smart enough to take hostages then they are smart enough to acknowledge that they are surrounded or outmatched. And Ainz is far stronger than needed to deal with the situation without hurting anyone. He just needs to show them that fighting is futile and if they want to live they need to let go of the hostages. Even if the Demi-humans aren't actually trying to negotiate anything and are just using hostages as a cheap trick to get more kills. They are bargaining their lives for the hostage's. That much they can understand. If the hostage dies. So do they. But Ainz being Ainz, doesn't need to keep his end of the deal. But If he wants to build a utopia for all races, he should focus on stamping out petty race conflicts like this and not creating incidents that would cause unrest like murdering hostages. Which would sow fear and distrust in his subjects. If he's planning on creating a utopia by simply using brute force and fear to keep everyone in line...that's not a utopia. That's a dystopia.

the Dwaren kingdom is classic fantasy dwarfs, they build their cities underground, they love alcohol and are excelent smiths. special notes about them without much spoilers would be is their royal lineage died out couple hundred years back and the kingdom is now ruled by council, other thing would be because of their liking for mining rare ore they often come into conflict with demi-humans and mosters which thrive on rare ore. as for platinum dragon lord only thing you should know is that he exists and is connected to city state alliance and i guess another thing was that damage on the armor came from shalltear, anything more about him would be heavy spoilers and he doesnt really come into play for a long time so yea, platinum dragon lord exists.

Nah, if i recall, they didn't do the usual 3 volumes anime since if they do so they will be cutting the anime off in the middle of an arc (though i do hope that the rest will get a season of their own). More over, since they only adapt 2 volumes, they can cut less things from the LN in general, don't you agree?

SPOILER DISCLAIMER TO OVERLORD: today first time I actually read a sagnificant part of volume of overlord(volume 10. was too curious te ecited for the new season). and I'm really suprises, there are parts who are not interesting so much, I would not say they are not important, but more of I don't connect with that part(like in the start of volume 10 there is 30 pages on how ains feel about clothes...) and actually in the start I didn't like the direction the story is going, because I felt ains is completely losing it, and too focused on the little circle of things he's in. but from pafe 40 or so the story is starting to really shine. and one thing I can say, you can see to good world building the auther does. I actually in parts disagree with some of the mind set the writer has. and still, the story is really shine with his world and character building(not ALL of them.. actually there are some mai characters I do not like so much threir building, or how they built I shoult say. partly is the way he built them(like albedo, her personality and such), and partly of not so much sharpend character building. but most of the character are built very good. and the world as a whole is with great detail.

I just have to say, I am so grateful the Roble Kingdom is being made into a movie. It is the slowest, more boring of the arcs, and although there is interesting world building in the arc, that it is my least favorite arc, to the point I had to wait for both novels for it to be out, so I could finish it in relatively one sitting, just to get through it. I appreciate your videos though, and thank you very much for these!
