I have around 10k hours in two different games--Path of Exile and Diablo 2--but I've 100%'d lots of games, including RPGs I didn't really care about, that took anywhere from 40 to 150 hours each. I'm at least *aware* of every game I played after age 6 or so (as in, if you asked me whether I played it, I could tell you), but as for whether I remember anything that actually happened in the game, often the answer is no. Final Fantasy 2 is a prime example (the real 2 which I played on GBA, not FF4 that was first released in America as 2). I played it to death but never truly cared and thus it didn't stick with me. Literally the detail I best remember is that characters had portraits unlike in 1. I don't remember what anyone looked like or what their names were (or what I named them, if that was an option). The reason I played it so much was because I had a pretty limited selection and, as a kid, tons and tons of free time. But I was pretty much playing with my brain turned off because it wasn't exactly a hard game.

It breaks my brain when top players main a character from this series with absolutely no playtime in their character's games. I kinda understand ROB, Ice Climbers, Game n Watch or some FE characters for games that were Japan only forever, but like, I remember Earthbound being a new release. Came with scratch n sniff stickers that were 1000% the worst smells I've ever smelled. I also kinda love it when Smash introduces someone to a very deserving series. Like if Cloud gets someone younger to play FFVII (original. The Remake is good, but you want the whole story and Cloud's character development), that would make my day. Joker's the only reason I played P5 and I'm so glad for it.

I think the reason that stage is there is because this rule set has been made since before Byleth's release and when they came out their stage was added to the list of playable stages in the rule set automatically.
