PLEASE READ FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, I HAD TO CUT OUT THE SECOND HALF OF THE STREAM, IT TOOK A DAY TO RE-PROCESS, SO HERE IT IS. A correction about Galleria (that I did clarify later in the stream, now cut out): I confused it for another shopping mall map on the workshop. Galleria does play really well (oddly enough, better than regular Nucleus. PD works great for the layout). My only gripe is the volume of visual clutter makes it hard to see players in certain areas at a distance, especially around the capture point.

As a warpaint creator who puts a lot of time and love into their work its super disheartening to see warpaints getting the short end of the stick yet again. It is evident that warpaints are an after thought, from bad selections to now not even being added anymore. As much as I want to keep putting time and effort into this niche that I love I'm kinda realizing I need to switch gears and focus my free time more on CS2 and cosmetic work. It sucks because warpaints are my favorite type of item and I feel like I'm letting down the people who enjoy my work.

I like that the Boarder’s Beanie just changes the pattern to make references to the class. Having Demo’s bottle pattern turned into a hat is way cooler of a concept than if they just strapped a bomb on Demo’s head or Engie having a teleporter propeller beanie. Very cool hat👍

I don't know what's keeping Eric from adding a new warpaint case tbh; Summer 2023 was the best-performing case in TF2 history, and there have been plenty of warpaint submissions in that same vein since then.

43:08 if I'm gonna be devil's advocate I really don't think this is bad at all, stock Heavy is already one of the weakest classes in terms of team-recognition and his chest coloration is already a big part of that, but this cosmetic adds bright big team-colored sleeves and lettering to compensate (not to mention that his chest is often concealed by his primary weapon)

Krampus has console commands show up in all chat, voting for next map seemed to break, and Krampus forced everyone out of the server for some reason. Honestly, I'd rather Valve just patch the game instead of adding more junk, especially if they cannot be bothered to test stuff before adding it.

I actually quite like that beanie hat for soldier. The camo style goes really well with the camo pants/equipment that got added in the summer update. Makes this modern PMC looking soldier which I’m quite fond of.

I think the only reason why Christmas Turbine got that door. is that the map maker also worked on Prop Hunt. i am almost sure it's done to spite anyone who against the idea of adding Prop hunt officially to the game. then you got the rage bait warpaint that got uploaded shortly after. where the creator change his name to that door nameplate (the rage bait warpaint guy is different from the map guy) but i will not put it past it, if they are not within the same group.

I'll go against the grain here and say I'm happy they didn't add a warpaint case. My way of thinking is this: hats, taunts, and effects are grossly excessive in quantity. There are way too many hats and items in this game. Every update exacerbates this issue by adding in too many hats, effects, and taunts of varying quality. Thus there are not only more ugly hats that will not see usage, there are also simply too many options to choose from-good or bad. My hope is that warpaints will be treated as an annual addition from this point. This both increases the chances of getting good cases due to the annual selection process instead of quarterly, as well as gives people a better appreciation of these items that are not added on a regular basis like hats are.

I’m kinda disappointed with the smissmas update this year. Sure, they didn’t add any shitty holiday garbage hats but it’s still a lot of questionable stuff. Can’t see myself using much of it… except the all class beanie bc that’s neat. The taunts were mid. I only like the cheers one but yeah, it’s too damn long. I agree that the lone star was the only tame hat taunt and even then I don’t like it. Thank GOD they had the intelligence to not add prop hunt. And I’m sad we got no warpaints because they did sooooo good earlier this summer with picking warpaints and I wanted more of that. Overall a mid update. Could be better could be worse. Can’t see myself using much of it but at least it’s fairly tame

Galleria, apart from being Player Destruction which is an apocalypse in of itself, is a complete maze to go through. It's basically Nucleus but with so much detail added that you don't understand where you are or where you are going. It made me legally blind.

I hope Valve add a spring update. where the summer and spring updates are the one where we get warpaints cosmetics and a map (2 all year map) this will help with the theme and allow more creative work that not limited to tacky stuff. and only keep the holiday updates for adding maps (2-3 maps and no cosmetics or warpaints) this will greatly improve the quality of items by the virtue that people on the workshop will not feel forced to shoehorn holiday stuff if they want their items to be added.

Even if this smissmas is slightly better then what we've been getting, were still getting shitty maps, cosmetics, and unusual effects. The road to this game becoming fortnite (which itself now is trying to become metaverse) has slowed slightly. Were still on course to this game having zero identity left though, but I guess were all on this ride just a bit longer.
