I know this has nothing to do with your review, but: Our cat was at a similar size at age 3 and the vet told us we were feeding her too much. We told the vet we were feeding her exactly what Science Diet told us to. We measured it out every day. The vet said a cat doesn't need nearly that many calories, and food companies use those measurements to sell more food. She told us to cut the feed in half. We kept feeding times the same, and our cat didn't notice the difference in amounts. She lost four pounds in a little over a year, and then leveled off to her ideal weight (waist and hips easily visible, no ribs showing). She's now a jumper and runner again, very active, just like when she was a kitten!

I get house flies and I can't stand them. But they are certainly attracted to light! I got two of these and had two flies on the sticky trap after the first night. Works for me 😊

Got mine a few days ago, and it's already working great! Tiny gnats of all kinds get into my apartment around the old front door, and so I put this in the nearest outlet to the door and it's attracting them and they're sticking to it. No harmful chemicals, a built-in nightlight, easy to remove the sticky part, etc. It certainly is helping!

I need to buy this cuz I'm getting tired of all the fruit fly's Update 09/09 this thing is amazing and it really does work. It takes a couple days for it to trap way more then to fruit fly's and eventually it will trap flys. Highly recommend

I also have one that my sister gave me for my game room in the basement the gnats are horrible down there left it plugged in and the next morning the trap was about 80% full already it does work it also works great as a night light

I tried it. Didn’t catch as much as using it on its own. I pull it out of it’s holsters, blue light going off, I swing at the fruit fly with sticky side facing forward and I was able to capture them instantly.

I feel you. I did the same thing even bleach down the drain. They do annoying you trying to watch TV they flying in your face. You trying to sleep they buzzing around you. I actually bought. Couple of these yesterday an it really does works. They was on that traps within a few minutes. Im at peace now.

It may work, but I think it’s a bit more than needed. What does plugging it in do except for provide a night light? Fruit flies don’t seem to be attracted to light. Plus, seeing the results after a couple weeks doesn’t look that impressive, especially if you’re dealing with a serious infestation. This might be best used as a preventative rather than a solution to a serious problem.

For gnats, they could really be fungus flies. They lay eggs in house plant soil. Eggs hatch in two weeks, so it could take a while. If it's soil fungus flies, you can buy sticky stakes to put in pots from a garden center.

Well, after all this time, no one has responded to your message. I will. 1. Make sure that there is power at your selected outlet. Is there a switch that switches power to that outlet? Plug in a known working lamp/radio in that outlet- verify that they work. If there is power then make sure that the sticky unit is seated all the way down. The light will not go on unless it is in place properly. If the light does not go on, the unit is probably defective.

@Frank Culaga The manufacturer probably tests a fraction of those they produce. You just got lucky and got a bad one that made its way through production. From what I've seen and experienced, these units have mixed effectiveness. The one that someone got for our workplace sat for days and caught nothing. However, on youtube, many units do well. It might be that the unit needs to be in darkness. IT, being the only light in the area. Good luck to you... ;)

Trust me, not all indoor flying insects are attracted to the whole apple cider vinegar setup. I have a drain fly issue, and they're not attracted to it at all.

Lol soon as I plugged it up I seen a gnat like literally appeared out of nowhere in it. Within five minutes it was like over twenty gnats on it. Here I thought I had few gnats an it was way more than that. Definitely will invest in more of these refills.

Made In China. Package says the box includes 1 Device & 1 Refill Cartridge which is false. It includes the device with no cartridge and one cartridge insert. I'm looking to purchase refills made in the USA, Republic of China (Taiwan) or anywhere but Communist China. I might make my own. Maybe someone knows of a company that sells compatible cartridges??? But on the positive side, my daughter has been using this for a few years, and, yes, it does work.

Neat idea, but realistically speaking, they are pretty counter-productive in the sense that they use more energy than needed. You can easily kill any garden variety insect with some simple apple cider vinegar sugar-water solution. The light is a gimmick, there are too many other wavelengths around the parameter of the house for a small little bulb like that to really be worth anything above $10, the waste of energy no matter how small on something so trivial seems unnecessary.
