Hi, excellent explanation! I have a BMW 520D with the transmission ZF8HP50Z, last month we have changed the mechatronic it was giving code 420321. However now is giving code 2AF800, 421343 and p1343. This after dealer reprogrammed the transmission. The valve body is new from ZF and the car do the same as before changing the VB. On D when you try to accelerate it goes to emergency, R does even move, and they get stuck on N. Do you have experienced this situation or do you know what can be? ZF is telling the problem is not from the VB but from one or two clutches changing dramatically. Thanks a lot for your time. Nelson

Thanks for the great video! Please please could you perhaps help me? I am always getting -700 mbar clutch E fill pressure after adaptation. I cannot find anywhere an information if this is outside of the allowed pressures. My 8HP55 transmission when the fluid temp is over 70-80 C, jerks slightly always before shifting 1-2 and 5-6. Very very slightly 2-3 and nobody can help me. Not even ZF official repair shop. Mechatronics has been checked and entire transmission rebuilt with new parts. No one knows why it jerks :-(

Maybe it jerks because it was built by them.

send valve body to maktrans in Poland or buy a remanufactured valve body from them. The jerk in that model is always the valve body.

@@paulkieffer1189 The jerk is caused by installed engine CVUB instead of CGQB ai found out. I need a TCU tune to solve it. Valve body has been rebuilt completely and tested by ZF. Thanks for idea though, appreciated.

Hi, I have a bad vibration in 6th gear on 8HP75z from 1500rpm under load? The gearbox was rebuilt and the flywheel replaced. The torsional vibration damper was also checked by BMW. The problem persists and no-one can figure out why its happening. Any idea what could be causing this?

What car? 6th gear is known to slip under heavy load when you are running over stock power. You really shouldn't be using heavy throttle at such low rpms in high gears. Just downshift before you accelerate.

@@ichoozjc I tried limiting the torque in 6th with software but still happens at only 350nm of torque when box should be able to take 750nm+. It is 6th yes and 3rd sometimes

@@user-od3rl5mc Sounds like you are in the same predicament I am. 😔. I'm slipping and vibrating in 6th. It just started so I'm researching my options. I'm stage 2 turbo with MHD and xHP. It's a little better today, I limited torque to 600nm in xHP. It's still getting torque limit codes in MHD. I'm gonna try dropping the allowed torque more and see if I can fix it with software. If that doesn't work, I'll try a trans fluid my tuner recommended. It's Adrenaline speed shift fluid. He claims it's worked for his customers in the past. If nothing else works then I'll probably get the Pure Stage 0 trans. It's good up to 750ft/lbs. But it's possible to just drive mindfully and try to stay out of high load at low rpms in 6th and 3rd. Are you on a bigger turbo? What's your setup?

@@ichoozjc my car is stock apart from xhp which I bought to try and resolve the problem. I've found limiting to 300nm makes the problem go away completely but the car is way to sluggish then in 6th. I had intended doing a stage 1 mg flasher tune but I think I'll just sell the licence and car on now at this stage. Let me know if any of your solutions above work.

@@user-od3rl5mc Yeah, 300nm is sadly limiting. Hope I don't have to go that low. Maybe check out that trans fluid first. It must have some friction modifiers because it says that it will reduce the life of the trans. But, if it's already failing you might as well give it a shot.
