Setting boundaries with your phone is the hard thing to do these days because we need our phone to perform the task at work. I can relate to this, I feel urged to scroll through social media when I have lots of stressed, it makes me feel that I can distract myself from stress and wind down.
But before mobile phone people also exchange info from family/neighbours before going to sleep Or thinking about tomorrow, reading novels/newspapers The brains didn't stop either, we are just thinking about different things.

But they didn’t read books or newspapers “all the time” or dependent on them. I think nobody would desperately want to read a book when they just get up in the morning. Honestly, those articles in physical books are better than trivial news nowadays.

@@Ph47forOshi I am not talking about the quality of information, but how the brains back then weren't exactly stopping either Nowadays we scroll phones and do nothing else Back then people don't focus on 1 thing but attending to many other things constantly So time-wise, the brains were as occupied, just with different things
