Thank you for your sincere reaction,you are great listener! This is a song of an animation "Big Fish & Begonia" a very touching story. This song was his first masterpiece, very famous in China. Zhou Shen has a unique youth voice and is a very sincere artiste,in fact I regard him as an artist. His songs are straight right to the heart and this is one of the reason why he is the King of OST in China at present. His voice is like an instrument and sometimes we like to have the accompaniments removed and just immerse in his pure crystal voice. There are a few versions of "Big Fish" and the latest was 2 days ago on 18 August, you will only be able to search the video from Bilibili, not in KZbin. Hey SP, I think the plot is about meeting someone at a simpler time and fell in love, but you know he/she was destined for something bigger, but in order to fulfill that destiny you have to let go, so you struggled, wanting to keep everything the way it is, treasuring simple moments when you held hands together watching rising wind and falling rain; "afraid that you will go far away, afraid that you will leave me, but i'm more afraid that you will stay here forever", so you let go, watching the one you were deeply in love reaching his/her greatest potential, just like watching a majestic big fish going back to the sky. you rejoiced with tears, which flows towards the big fish, yet at the same time you were overwhelmed by sadness, as you understand fully that you will no longer be a part of the big fish's life, no matter how great and majestic the fish becomes.

This story tells that in the deep ocean where the sky is connected with the sea of the human world, there are "others" who are in charge of the operation law of everything in the human world. The girl "Chun", who lives in the "God's Wai Building", turned into a dolphin on her 16th birthday and toured the world. She was trapped by a net in the sea. A human boy fell into the deep sea and died because he saved her. In order to repay her kindness, she needs to help the boy's soul in her own world - a small fish as big as a thumb, grow into a bigger fish than a whale and return to the sea. This is obviously the best review that I have seen for this song. Most reviewers concentrates on his high pitch, singing techniques, the performance or even pronunciation of his words - of course all of above are top class - but seldom focus on what he wants to deliver. My understanding to the lyrics is, the kid born, and is growing up, you love your kid, one day your kid is big enough to leave you, you afraid of your kid is leaving you but you more afraid that your kid is not leaving you - I love this contradictory presentation which expresses so accurately what most parents are thinking of! - and you released your rope, and finally you realized that your kid is not belonging to the sea but the sky, you think your kid is just a big fish, but your kid is a bird which can fly farer and higher. The lyrics of classic Chinese songs always written like a poem, even native Chinese speakers cannot understand what it is talking exactly about without certain level of literary attainment and life experience, and of course different people with different stories could have different understanding to it

Just for another reaction reference, a group called May Day (五月天), they are a Rock group playing mostly soft rocks and are one of the most known Rock Bands in Asia. Another singer that is highly rated is Hua Chenyu. One never knows what one will get with a Hua Chenyu song since he mixes genres and composes many of his own songs. He is an epic stage performer spilling his emotions into the audience so they can share in those emotions. He is also a master are redeveloping cover songs into his unique perspective.
