It's about time we react to a Peter Hollens song! What else should we check out from his channel? Let us know! 🙌
@MagsonDare3 жыл бұрын
It's honestly hard to go wrong with anything he does. There are very very few of his videos that I don't like. That said I tend to like his quirkier ones like "Still Alive" from the video game "Portal" that he did with his wife -- kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmKbiXWKebN5bZo Edit to add -- the behind the scenes video about how they filmed it is well worth watching too.

It was over 100 tracks that they used to combine for the texture of the sound of the video. Also to note Tim was in the Grand Caymen's and had to do the recording remotely for the video as he was working on another video at the time.

This song was recorded by layering voice on voice. Peter Hollins is vegoog at it.

Peter stated 128 tracks 64 each and Tim at that time was about 1,800 - 2,000 Miles (2,900 KM - 3,200 KM) away on an island filming something so they did ALL of this over the Net also if you watch Tim at the Very end the camera is shaking.

Fun fact, Peter and Tim were in different countries filming this!(I wish I could find specifics, but I just know that Tim was touring with Home Free and Peter was at home.) It just surprised me because I didn’t even clock that they were different backgrounds 😂 I’d love to see you react to more of Peter Hollens’ collaborations, Greensleeves or Bridge Over Troubled Water with Tim are great. He’s also done Amazing Grace with Home Free if that interests you! Oh! I went back to see if I could find more info, couldn’t find that, but I was reminded, (if you have the time 😋) you might want to check out The Hound + The Fox! They’ve done some collaborations with Home Free members, and were the couple in HF’s music video for Thinking Out Loud/Let’s Get it On. Their cover of Hurt featuring Adam Chance would be my recommendation, but if you’d like to hear Jenika Marion, Tim’s wife, sing then check out “Winter Song” with The Hound + The Fox (or some of her own music, but I don’t know it well enough to suggest anything) or “The Good Stuff” which has both couples singing 😊 It’s cute, and has a cute animation too. (Sorry for the paragraphs 😅)

Tim and Peter go way back, they sang together in an acapella group called Ball in the House in the mid-00s. And their voices always sound wonderful together. I think you were right about the early lows being Peter, he did a solo version of this before this one, and while he can't hit Tim's subterranean range, he managed to get pretty low. If you're looking for Peter's solo stuff, I love his stuff from the Greatest Showman - he did an album of the whole show. If you'd like to hear him singing with Tim, there's Greensleeves or if you'd like something different from Tim, they did a version of the Beach Boys song God Only Knows, singing with their wives Evynne and Jenika, who are also talented singers.

This is great! I understand it’s 120 tracks or some insane number. If you stare at Tim on the last note the camera actually shakes. Tim and Peter sing Greensleeves, Sound of Silence, Bridge over Troubled Water and Fire and Rain. I love Peter with Home Free singing Amazing Grace. It’s so well done. Peter is an amazing artist. The books had so many epic songs and poems. I think that as epic as the movies were, not enough attention was paid to the entire story. I understand budget and time limitations but I can't help but imagine what the movies would look like without those limitations.

Peter Hollens is so talented! I really enjoy his harmonies, whether he's harmonizing with himself or someone else. You might enjoy his Hobbit Drinking Medley! It's absolutely wonderful--so much fun! BTW, Geoff Castellucci just came out with a cover of Misty Mountains a day or so ago. It's pretty dope, but I still think this one is my favorite, but you might want to check out Geoff's cover. And what a wonderful experience singing with the orchestra!

My favorite Peter performances have to be his version of "Hallelujah" with Jackie Evancho and "A Million Dreams sung by a 4 year old " with his wife Evynne and their oldest son Ashland. For something more upbeat, I'd go with he and Brian Hull doing let it go as different Disney characters. Fun fact: Peter's a capella group On the Rocks performed on the Sing Off Season 2, the year before Pentatonix won. Shows you how long he's been at this. Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction and insights. Keep it up!

@@ZhenYaoYin You won't regret it! Tomi still hopes to join Voiceplay one day. Not likely. Tim Foust in the Just Sing (you guys reacted to) collaborated with them, but that's as far as an extra Bass works. The one voice that doesn't need replacing in Voiceplay since it's beginning. ^^ Voiceplay is VERY open to new candidates as long as they follow their rules though, so who knows?
