Hi there, First, thank you Jeffrey for your video, it is really well made. Now, I'll try to help the community who has trouble with the Crane 2 after the update. I had some issues as well. The gimbal was very unstable, it couldn't stabilize well the A7III, even with the small 28mm f2.0 and the Vortex mode blocked at 15° every time. So I tried to install an older firmware but it didn't fix the global stability... I finally succed to make the Crane 2 works with the latest firmware, the 1.77. So, all to have to do is : 1/ Connect the Gimbal to your PC with the micro USB cable (provided by Zhiyun). DO NOT TURN IT ON ! 2/ Launch the Gimbal tools 3/ Browse the good firmware (1.77) and open it 4/ Clic on the start button 5/ The Crane's display will show the "upgrade logo" during 15/20 sec 6/ When the logo is gone and the display is black, disconnect the cable (you can now close the Gimbal tools program) 7/ Put your camera on the gimbal and balance it properly 8/ Turn the gimbal on and voilà, it works ! (at least for me it finally worked this way) I tried the "heavy motor" setting with my setup but the Crane was shaky. I had to select "medium" to make it work correctly. Cheers !

hell yeah bro thank you and I just got a eos r to use my crane with, the AF works perfect, I don't need the knob. however, I used a t5i with the gimbal before this point and so the footage that I'm going to get with this update, I'm stoked for. Thanks for doing this little tutorial. Love to see another Latino in the youtube world killing it.

This is madness. My Crane stopped syncing with my app today and then I updated. Didn't realise such an incremental update would change so much about the crane.

Holly cow! didn't knew this update was coming. I just upgraded my Crane 2 and it works great! but my pc won't detect it anymore. I've reinstalled the usb drive from scratch but it still won't work. I have vortex effect but now I can't fine tune the motors from the pc! any tips?

My pitch motor works up to a certain degree up and down and then gives out and rebalances itself. Ever heard of this issue?

I am having the same problem, it will enter vortex mode on the screen but won't do a complete rotation. Did you ever find a fix? (using version 1.77)

i had had the exact problem - my Crane 2 came today, I updated firmware and thought it hadn't work. I rebalanced by Crane paying attention a lot more to the the third axis I hadn't balanced properly ever before (I was a Crane v2 owner) and it worked fine. Not to insult anyone's intelligence but the third axis and balancing it shown nicely on 'How to Balance The Zhiyun Crane 2 In Under 2 Minutes The Right Way' on 'Media Unlocked''s channel. Now my Vortex goes 360 and POV works perfectly (was jolting before)

the "OPEN" option is greyed out. cannot click on it. also in Zhiyun's manual they say to update firmware...put Crane 2 in "STANDBY" mode by "LONG PRESSING" the mode button. i tried this and it does nothing.

ive seen lots of people with the "greyed out" issue. also Zhiyun states putting Crane 2 into "standby" mode by pressing the mode button for a long time. nothing happens when i do that. there are some big issues as ive seen from many other commenters but these reviewers just go thru the firmware updating like a monkey (in space lol!) that can be taught basic tasks. why dont these reviewers respond..? because they dont know shit.

formattester6 I'm talking with Zhiyun right now, they sent me another version of the software to install, but didn't change a thing. BUT I don't know about you, but I didn't have a normal USB to mini Usb cable in the pack. I'm using one I had, and it seems that it's not long enough, so It's not connecting properly. When I tweak it, sometimes the button open becomes available. It sucks

@@Vellavi i tried 3 different cables. the 3 ive tried dont look like the one in this video with Zhiyun printed on it. i doubt that they would have some sort of proprietary cable but maybe the do? if you get a favorable result im hoping you'll post here the details. good luck!

formattester6 kept trying, unplugged every other cable, rebooted the imac, replugged the gimbal, didn't put it on standby, ended up working ... don't know how

Mine upgraded to 1.77. Anywaym I need help guys. The vortex mode is working 360 degrees but the rotation is slow compared to what I saw in other videos. Can somehow help me how to make the rotation faster. Thanks!

Try going into the Zhiyun Play app and connect your crane 2. When connected select scene mode and change it to 'Motion'. It will make it spin much faster. Hope this helped.

Use the normal microUSB (not the multi) cord. set the gimbal to Canon. Works for me (ISO, Shutter, Aperture, Exp Compensation)

It appears that firmware vers. 1.77 has actually weakened the motors... is this possible? The unit will not do a Vortex barrel roll at all.

Confession time. The rod on my pitch access was set way too low throwing the balance out of whack. Even when balanced in that low position. This at least seems to be the issue I was having. I had my a7iii with my heaviest lens and it the issue cleared up as soon as I adjusted the rod higher. So, my issue is probably unrelated to the firmware update.
