Is the battery internal? No one ever mentions that. What if the battery dies completely will zhiyune have a option to replace it? I use mostly feiyutech gimbals but this thing has me interested since i ride my mountain bike to most locations this would fit in a pack nicely . I also use mostly gopro hero 7 and panasonic g7 wich weighs about 540g with kit lense nice.

Please advise if you can connect the Crane M2 with the Canon M50 using the ZY play. Can you run a video to demonstrate how to do this ? I came up with an error on the M50 "Connection Target Not Found" err 11 on the M50 screen.

Hi. Can you show the setup with an Osmo Action? From what I can see, the gimbal motor will be blocking the side where the Osmo action charging port is. Will a L-shaped connector work?

Balancing the m50 without unfolding the kit lens...sure it balance. Unfold the lens and you’ll struggle to balance it properly because of the eye piece hitting the roll motor.

Very helpful video for setting up my new GoPro Hero 9. GoPro did fix one thing that you had mentioned in your video. The power button is now on the left had side so it easy to reach though with voice commands - GoPro Power On/GoPro Power Off - it would not be an issue either way. The problem now is that the power port is where the power button used to be. If you are going to use external power you will need a right-angle USB-C connector.

Thanks for your review. I’ve also got an M50 and recently picked up an M2 before a short holiday. I cannot figure out how to connect the app and would really like to be able to at least use the record button. Any luck? I’ve asked Zhiyun directly but no response however they told someone else is does function. Doesn’t seem to be any tutorials on this so you’d be the first if you’ve figured it out. Thanks!

Zubazz4Eva you need to create a new connection profile on the M50 to connect it to the Zhiyun Play app. It’s the only way to do it. Will explain it in a further video. And controls are limited (time lapse and start/stop record). There’s no real point to use it to be honest

Hi im soon going to buy GOPRO hero 8 camera. And the same grip. Will i still need to buy any adaptors or anything to connect the camera on this handheld grip? And also is this the best stabiliser grips in the market for the gopro 8 ? So many out there dont no what to get.. But most grips are older models. Usually i be using it with the new Hero 8 camera. Not so much smart phones. But i want one tha is comfortable to hold on to to do live streaming youtube when on holidays and need good grip stabiliser. But dont forget there are older models out there that just might not be as good as this? you know up and down left and right buttons functionality and so on.

For clarification, it's pronounced "Gee-Yoon" as explained by someone well versed in Chinese. It's a nice Gimbal, I've been using it with three different cameras. So light and compact to take along with you just about anywhere.

I think you dont need the gimbal for the go pro and osmo action. Rocksteady and hypersmooth is enough right? That would be a big help to your m50.

The crane m-2 turned into a “hobby” just to figure it out. The us version of ZY play doesn’t have the m-2 connection in the IOS. Finally downloaded app on a android and it had the choice of connecting to the m-2 finally was able to connect to the app on android phone. This video pointed out I was mounting my go pro backwards. Also Disappointed in the app! Thought it would display the video in the app along with the controller.. I estimated I spent 6 hrs ...and decided I really didn’t need the app connection. This being my first gimbal was quite a challenge... maybe I find I’ll use it more than I think also while I’m complaining I like the storage case but it should of been larger so I could keep GoPro attached.. and store it

Essentially the app only works with smartphones not the GoPro hero 9. So how do you get the gimbal to follow you as you pass it whilst hiking?

Would this gimbal still be the one you’d recommend for a Hero 8? Optimally, face tracking would seal the deal, but I do not believe it’s possible with this gimbal. I’m guessing the hero 8 would pair up for the record button on the gimbal. And last, do you think the Hero 8 screen mod in the up position could be used with this gimbal without striking the arms? Without reading all the above comments (maybe others have made this point), Zhiyun didn’t think this through to work with cameras with AF that is triggered by the camera photo button. As you likely know, on these cameras a partial depression of the button activates the AF and then depressing entirely takes the photo. Zhiyun’s photo record switch is not compatible with this type of camera switch. They do have a work-around. Get a micro usb male to micro usb male that is short in length to connect between the port on the tilt axis and the camera’s port (top one, not the hdmi). Then the power button can function to trigger photos and record video.

I LIKE your review! I'm interested in this gimbal and am going to buy it. I'd like to use it with my reasonably small and lightweight Panasonic Lumix DC-FZ82 (LUMIX DC VARIO Lens), but it's not on the list of supported cameras. I suspect the reason is the size of the lens (at 120x zoom mode) and the corresponding balancing restrictions. Could you answer to my question? I bought this gimbal today. Looking forward to using it with my Canon SX 730 HS. This camera has 40x optical zoom, which is awesome, but it is really prone to shaking, obviously. Hopefully this gimbal will help.

@@NizhonixMoto Thanks for the question Nizhoni. Yes, I downloaded the Zhiyun app and I can operate the gimbal remotely. The only thing I can't do with it is operate the camera itself. Unfortunately the Canon app does not cover that.

Yes the nice thing about the style of gimbal is that you can use it with many different cameras. However the software for the gimbal is not compatible with every camera, which means the record button will trigger the GoPro. But to me it’s not a big issue I just tell the go Pro to start recording

I have crane m2 and I bought it from 10 months ago and it’s stopped working suddenly, without any scratching or dropping it , after I contacted zhiyun and because I’m living in Egypt, they said me that their Egyptian agent can fixing it on my cost, or I can send it to their repair center in German and shipping fees on my cost too even the gimbal in warranty period, I’m very disappointed ☹️ and I waiting now the report from their Egyptian agent
