10:46 I can go to Vertigo mode in my Zhiyun Crane M2 with my a6500 + 16-55 kit lens which weighs around 720 gr. I think in your case the eyepiece hits the gimbal itself. Try removing the eyepiece. 13:29 Also when you balance your camera you didn't balance the tilt axis completely by turning the camera up (lens looks up) and then balancing by shifting it on the vertical slider. I believe that is the reason of the crazy vibration (thinking that you repeated the same procedure on balancing your a6500). I know it because I had it too, due to the incomplete balance.
@alexgharf5 жыл бұрын
This worked for me! I balanced the tilt axis and now it works although only when the gimbal is standing up and pointing at the sky, if i turn it sideways, it seems the motors aren't strong enough to do the full 360 :/

Hey Evan. The reason you had issues with vertigo mode may not be the weight of the camera, but because you neglected to balance the third axis. On the video, when you enter that mode you can see the camera rotates around excessively quickly on the base axis, which would indicate that's where the problem may be.

Thank you for this! I have only been able to get vertigo mode to work once and I honestly believe it was by chance. Ever since I have been struggling and just like you said, it’s the third axis. The axis lock isn't a software error. The camera is physically too large. If you look at the eyepiece of the camera, it is hitting the gimbal when it tries to roll the camera back. The axis is blocked, so the gimbal is protecting its motors.

My Pentax X5, like yours, has the "eye peice" that bumps into the back motor and keeps you from tilting the rig downward more than about 40 degrees and this is what caused the warnings and shutdown. Nice video! I used it for a couple of days with my A6400. Some issues: 1) couldn’t find the setting to control motor speed with the camera. I believe it works when you use a phone on the gimbal, so not useful for camera users. The speed in my opinion is quite slow. 2) the plastic body can induce some serious scratches on the camera’s body especially while moving it around with the gimbal off. There is only one axis lock and the camera can become super wobbly while transporting. I have scratches on the back of my flip screen and some around the lens cover. All in all if you’re okay with carrying a little bulkier but more robust and safer gimbal for your camera then go for the DJI ronin-SC or something in that range.

Just to clarify something, you MUST make sure the camera is balanced on ALL THREE AXIS before you turn on the gimbal. Check the pitch, yaw and roll to make sure they all stay level when you move them. The reason Evan gets an "axis lock" warning is because the camera is not 100% balanced on that axis. You MUST balance perfectly BEFORE you turn on the gimbal :)

After connecting phone to Crane M2 with bluetooth succesfully I was getting "connection failed" for setting up wireless connection between Crane M2 and both my Sony A6300 and RX100 M6 . I tried updating firmware of Crane M2 , updating firmware of Cameras, updating the remote control application on Sony A6300, downgrading the remote control application so it becomes "remote control embedded" again. Uninstall ZY Play application , rotate the camera mode swivel to different modes (auto, video). Nothing seemed to work. I then pulled out an old Samsung S2 tablet , downlaoded the ZY Play app on it, and the wi-fi connection for Crane M2 and Sony camera went through on the first time. This is all that it's needed, for the Crane M2 to learn the camera ssd and password once which it saves in the memory. After trying to connect again with my Samsung S10 phone, it connected right away to Crane M2 with all the controls for Sony Camera.
