for their first iteration not bad. sure a lot of room for improvement, as you said a app connection to be able to control it from the phone and safe presets. I wish it wold do flash too like the rotolights of the stellas. but for the price, I guess thats not possible :)

Your video are always so good looking. I wonder what you do to make that RGB/Anamorphic distortion around the border. About the Zhyiun light, I don't think it really worth it, 200$ for a light with no app control, you can't dial green/magenta tint on CCT mode apparently, so you can't match with other lights or ambient, idk, also, it's form factor... it just doesn't make any sense to me. But great video anyway, as always.

nice video dude! that rgb brightness could really be an issue. I think I will stick to soonwell for my rgb tubelights since the rgb brightness and diffusion is really good.

Zhiyun Light Wand is really an ambitious attempt. The quality of the light produced is not inferior to the big brands. I like the design of the light stick very much.

@ptorre55542 жыл бұрын
I like how fairly simple and versatile the light seems to be, I think it would pair great with those wider aperture lenses for those softer moodier looks when in RGB mode for sure. I think app connectivity would definitely put it on par with other competitors, but at its current state I don't know how worth it is for $200. Great review as always!

Even weeylite products have an app for their lights!! App would definitely make it worth it.
@SimeonKolev2 жыл бұрын
Cool video :) But about 1:26 I am not sure 100W is the real power draw of this light whereas the competitors - this is their actual power draw from the battery. You know how LED lights are rated for halogen power equivalent and usually it is something like 10W LED is like 70-80W halogen in terms of lumens. So is it possible that this ZY light is 100W equivalent or this is actually its real power draw therefore it is really much more powerful than other lights?
@VictorLaforteza2 жыл бұрын
I actually don’t have a way to test it out! Not sure if this will be helpful or not but compared to a 60w cob light! forza 60 barebulb vs the max output of this, I find it’s a tad brighter. At least in my eyes! Do you know any other ways of testing it out? I’d love to learn!
@SimeonKolev2 жыл бұрын
@@VictorLaforteza Well you can measure the lumens with a light meter or compare directly in the same conditions to a light that is known how much it puts out. It depends on the modifiers too, if you put the reflector on the Forza it will boost its performance. I checked other reviews - turns out they managed to pack a real array of led chips with combined total power 100W which is why there are 6 fans and a heavy heatsink. Which is unique in the segment for this type of lights. I wonder how it will perform in real world scenarios because this changes the use case of the light, adding new possibilities and removing some because of the fan noise. For me I use some YN360 lights that are similar and they can be handy in many situations but they are around 18W.

@@SimeonKolev The reflector really boosts the forza's power. That's amazing that they really have put in that much power in it. I'm definitely going to use it in my shoots to see how it is in real world scenarios! My first initial testing seems great but with it's quirks. Luckily, I don't shoot a lot of audio heavy work!

Cool review, Zhiyun did a great job on the stabilizer, it's really bright when it's in key light (100w is a big improvement in the industry), but they also need to improve cct mode
