I just got this gimbal last week and I am pretty happy with it. There are some features in their app like panoramic, time lapse, moving time-lapse which make it worth downloading and trying the app. Thanks for the video.

theirs a MODE called LOCK MODE. that will stabilize it even more. no bumps..no drags at all. also..the stabilizer setting..even MORE extreme stabling

Chris I saw that even in your thumbnail the horizon of the phone is way off and I've been having the same problem. have done the 6 point configuration a few times as well as adjust the arm but it runs slightly tilted to the left all the time

I bought one of these about a year ago and it just flopped around like a rabbit having a seizure. Someone suggested that I needed to calibrate it but I haven’t figured out the problems yet, Bummer!!! Loved your video however!

I've loved my Smooth Q. But now when I turn it on suddenly it's going round and round in circles with or without the phone in the holder. Any clues?

I don't try to walk any special way when I use it. Just walk as you normally do and run with it. It works actually well. I use it with an action camera with an adapter and put it in selfie mode (3 push of the mode button) so that the Gimbal arm wont show up in the shot.

Depends on the case. And the phone. An HTC 10 with an otterbox defender? No. An iPhone 5 with a slim tpu case? Yes. An htc 10 with a slim tpu case? Yes. An iPhone 5 with an otterbox defender? Probably not.

I have the Smooth Q, and I will give it a passing grade. The main thing I have to state is that if anything goes wrong with it you will have to send it back to China. That is a deal killer.

+Ride Alongside you shouldn't need a 4 axis with a bike. The 4th axis is mainly to offset the up and down step movement. Which isn't there when on a bike.

if you are using large size phones (I had iphone 7 plus with lightest case), gimbal will sometimes shake badly, because motor is made with minimum qualifications , and that makes footage quality really bad. but I have to say it's worth money. $150 + --

Hey man, I know you also did a review on the SkyLab gimbal as well. Which one did you like more, the skylab or the zhiyun? I have the skylab right now and it makes loud noises and always messes up shots by itself, does the zhiyun also have issues or is it much better?

Thats awesome to hear, I already ordered the smooth q from best buy so I will be returning the SkyLab piece of crap. It was pretty stable when testing it out but any abrupt movement and it would glitch out on me and even make my phone hit the base of the gimbal... Believe it or not the same makers of the SkyLab also make rebrand with another name called North (weliveupnorth.com) which is legitimately the same gimbal under a different brand name. Same package, just upcharge for the SkyLab since its made exclusively for Best Buy. Alright done with my rant..... Do you think the Smooth q will work well with my iphone 7 plus? Heard it has issues balancing it from some people online

It is a shame the Android app is so bad. The Apple app works much better, and it does have some good features. I especially like the moving time lapse, and the face follow. Some of it works on Android, but not consistently. Even if you never use the app it is still a good gimbal for the price - currently $99! 😀

Great review...the battery life is amazing. I throw it in my backpack. It's so easy and convenient to use once you get it set up and familiar. I was going to get a battery bank but if my electronic devices just need a charge I plug them in. I hope you can review the new Osmo mobile coming out (which seems like a copy of the smooth Q but I think the software and object tracking is better) and the Movi coming out in March.

Yes, of course. I plan to. I haven't used it. :) And I tried to charge it, but it didn't seem to be charging after I had it plugged in for about 90 minutes. Then, I had to leave the house, so I unplugged it because the instructions make it sound like something is going to explode if I leave it unattended and plugged in. Yes, can do without zoom, but it would be good if there is another compatible app that will shoot in higher resolution and also have the function to follow objects or people.
