Akbar Taufani well then I would hate to see it in the hands of an average user. I was looking forward to this but stabilization just doesn't look good even on a light setup such as this. Portability is a plus for sure but advertising this as capable of handling a 3kg payload is just false advertising. I won't even go into their software division and releasing the product without advertised functions. Go buy it - it will be good in the future once we finish it; we promise! And all that for a premium price :/
@akbartofani5 жыл бұрын
@@betrion7 couldn't agree more about the payload. But even ronin s with the sigma 18-35 still have some limitations. I guess the point of having pistol grip gimbals is to have the lightest setup possible, those payloads are just marketing bs. With heavy setup, I'd rather use something like ronin m.

I bought this gimbal last week and returned it immediately due to it's misleading payload, Zhiyun says it supports up to 3kg but on the manual don't recommend use something more heavy than a A7 III + Sony 24-70 F4 and that setup not more heavy than 1.5kg . I really think a lot of reviewers are being very soft on this gimbal only to get commissions when their audience buy the product, I'm truly respect Brandon as a filmmaker but i can't say the quality of this gimbal is aceptable, just compare this footage to the footage on his reviews on other gimbals last year. If this gimbal sucks it's okay, I appreciate more a truly honest review than something like "this gimbal is okay if you use this, this and this... buy it".
@darwinmacon5 жыл бұрын
I bought one and returned it as well. I really wanted to like it for the light weight and portability. It struggles with panning and jerks, as if it's in a bind, when doing any kind of diagonal movement. Mine also would not hold the horizon level. I had to shim the plate with a thin piece of cardboard. It honestly feels like a toy compared to my Ronin S.
@dffrnt5 жыл бұрын
Víxelo which do you recommend? Crane plus or moza air
@_MJ07_5 жыл бұрын
That isn't entirely fair though, because the weight limit is 3kg. The problem is that the weight isn't distributed well with that setup. Just like how you would struggle to carry the gimbal if you held it at arms length, the gimbal is going to struggle to balance a long lens. It is just physics really. Wait for the Crane 3 lab, that will be more comparable to the Ronin S.

I also bought one of the first units that B&H had and returned it 3 days later. Sloppy motion with my Sony A7iii with 28mm was pretty much unusable. Also could not stand the form factor of the unit. I just sold my Crane 2 for the Weebill. For sure not as stable. Just used it today for my first time. It can’t really handle jogging at all. It’s a great size and love the lock latches. Also light enough for me to use one hand at times vs the heavy Crane 2 always needs 2 hands. I’m keeping it as I’m more of a traveler video guy, but if I were to use this for normal work closer to home, I would not use this. Too many random jitters and such that we could see in your video. I feel I have to be extra ninja like with my moves to make sure it stays smooth.
@lifeismovementislife96475 жыл бұрын
I haven't used it yet but definitely saw those jitters all around the video. I am mostly filming action scenes where I am running or even overcoming obstacles with my gimbal and the Ronin has always been a great companion. I hoped to find a great and lightweight alternative in this gimbal or it's bigger brother but now I feel like weight really equals performance. If you're interested, what I use my gimbal for have a look at my instagram profile @cinematograaf :-)

I'm thinking about getting the Zhiyun crane 2 as there is a good Offer - at the moment I use the a6500 with 18-105 f4 but thinking about upgrading to the A7III in the future. Any help would be awesome!
@juspain15 жыл бұрын
Ruth Hurst i used to have the Crane 2. I think it’s a much more sturdy gimbal for my a7iii and Tamron lens. You can move fast with it and run around and footage is way more stable than the Weebill. The Weebill is great for traveling, but if you’re not packing light and traveling the world, I’d go for the Crane 2. I’m tempted to buy it again since it’s on sale for Black Friday.
@AndrewYohanes5 жыл бұрын
@@juspain1 i have crane 2, and i was thinking to sell it and get the weebil lab, becoz of the heavy thing. And I can't use the follow focus, becoz i have to use 2 hands to hold it 😂. And now, after I see this video, theres wobbly and jitters, if without steady shot, I'm so confused.. my A63 doesn't have ibis, even my 18-105mm have it, but still, I cant rely on that. Do you have any suggestion, should I keep the crane 2 or buy the weebil?
@juspain15 жыл бұрын
Dre Yohanes with the a6300 its a small camera. Crane 2 seems overkill. You could look into Weebill lab or the new DJI ronin sc. I still like my Weebill lab. Just can’t do much action shots running around which I don’t really do. But it’s grown on me and I’ve learned to move more ninja like to help. Great job on the video. Interesting to see it in action with someone of your gimbal skill level. The shape and easy pack-ability do look really interesting. Right now I'm using a Zhiyun Crane-M which is decent with a Canon M50 and M100, but it's so small that not all combinations of lens and camera can easily invert or even fit. Regarding enabling follow mode with a monopod without being able to hold the trigger; one could put it in POV mode and flip the physical lock on the roll axis. I guess this gimbals utility depends on what you're looking to get out of it. If you need something that can rival the performance of a larger gimbal, this might not be the ticket. For someone like me, this is perfect. I have one and mount it with an A7iii and the Sony 28mm F2. I have custom buttons assigned enabling both crop mode and Clear Image Zoom to increase my reach. I'm just using it for personal home and travel videos, so I don't need it to be able to be perfectly smooth at run. Just something that works, is lightweight and can easily fit in a backpack. I couldn't be happier with mine as of now.
@samuel_huh5 жыл бұрын
Nice review man. Regarding 4:17, about having to hold the trigger or the go mode button, there is apparently a solution: press the button you want to hold (the trigger for instance) and then tap the LV button 3 times (the up button on the joystick). It will lock all buttons, so now you don't need to hold it anymore to keep the function active. If you tap 2 times, it will lock only the front buttons (where go mode is). So that's the way to go to use it with a monopod, for instance. I didn't test it yet, but the guys on another video are saying it works. Please let us know it it's true

The problem with this Zhiyun app is that it requires wifi and bluetooth. These two signals interfere with each other for video transmission. If Zhiyun stuck with only wifi I think they could get better video transmission. This is what apps like field monitor do. You cant control the gimbal through the app but for video features and latency it’s way better.
@BrandonLiUnscripted5 жыл бұрын
Field monitor is a great app but image transmission is limited by Sony's 2.4ghz architecture. Nikon Z6 uses 5ghz which theoretically should be much more reliable with fewer dropouts. Might still have latency because of ip packet encryption
