Just picked it up last week and couldn’t get it to work on vortex mode. Turns out I’ve been balancing my gimbal wrong for nearly 2yrs hahaha... Note to everyone: update the firmware and do not neglect a single axis or motor(it’ll be a defining factor to utilize your gimbal’s movements)!

I saw a guy on a different channel take a cheese plate and mount it under the base plate of the gimbal with an extended screw. He then screwed counter weights to the underside of the cheese plate. I don’t think he had a quick release on top of the base plate though. Thanks for the vids man, hope that helps!
@justinnewman1375 жыл бұрын
Not sure if this will help anyone but I have a decent work around for a manfrotto mount. After jacking around for hours trying to get mine balanced with and a7iii and ziess batis 24, I realized it helps a ton if you go ahead and take the whole slider Mount off (space and top slider). You just need to remove the tiny Allen and it slides off. Then you can mount the manfrotto straight to the base plate giving you a lower sense of gravity and allowing your eyepiece to clear. It still didn't balance perfectly but it's closer and gimble works more freely. Hope this helps.

They have a quick release for the stand part so you don’t have to constantly screw it snd unscrew it to move it. The quick release attachment goes on both screwholes on the gimbal and takes just 2 seconds to switch the stands position.

Thank yu so much for sharing about the issues with a quick release plate. Will further hold off on saving for this gimbal as I have my Crane 2 which works great with a similar quick release plate that does wonders for cameras on gimbals when you need to keep changing batteries and not worry about re-balancing. Wonder if it will work with and M5 and a quick release since it is smaller than an A7iii, Or we could use the counter weights. Oh well, will wait and watch. Thanks again!

After watching loads of reviews on youtube including this one Chris my new Zhiyun weebill arrived today and thank god I purchased it from Jessops because its going back tomorrow I'm soooooo disappointed. I have paired it with a Canon 80D and a 24mm f2.8 pancake lens together they weigh 2.5lbs which is well in the recommended payload of 3kg (6lbs) stated by Zhiyun. When in Vortex mode it can't spin it stops halfway around and can't turn as it looks too heavy, also its arrived requiring a firmware update and when you go on the Zhiyun official firmware download site the Weebill isn't even listed under products :( so not able to update firmware. Then just to really piss me off the menu button is faulty it won't allow me to change motor speed or anything, so all in all not happy it cost me £579 and now I've got to mess around returning it and waiting 28days for my money back arrgghhh.....
@chrisbrockhurst5 жыл бұрын
That doesn’t sound fun, sorry to hear that! That 80D is a big camera compared to what I’m using but it should still balance.. does it balance properly prior to turn it on? Wondering if yours is entirely faulty and that’s why vortex doesn’t work properly. Hopefully they get it sorted for you!!
@taib05 жыл бұрын
@@chrisbrockhurst Hi Chris, thanks for the reply, its gone back to Jessops this morning for a full refund as at this stage its pointless ordering another until Zhiyun sort out firmware updates etc. As I said when you go on their site for a firmware update the Weebill isn't even listed so I feel it's been marketed to soon its clearly got teathing problems and at £579 its left rather a bad taste in my mouth as I don't have a gimbal now I sold my old one last week :(

On my Weebill bill I also can not balance the “lens up” tilt if using the manfrotto RC2 quick release. I use it anyways as not having a quick release really defeats my workflow. I am hoping there is a solution to this. I thought about maybe getting a manfrotto 501PL and omitting the Arca Swiss mid plate that comes with the Weebill to lessen the top heavy weight. I have yet to try but if someone figures out a solution I love to hear.
