You know, I get that they have concerns about him only being here for a green card. The episode where he first arrived in the US still ticks me off. He flew here for I don't remember how many hours. 24+ hours, I'm guessing. He meets Rebecca's daughter and her fiance at the airport while completely exhausted. He's asked if he wants to go to dinner or get drinks. He very politely declines and explains he's exhausted. So what do they do? Drag him out to dinner and try to hold a conversation with him and get to know him while he's ready to fall asleep. They could have waited a freaking day. One day. He didn't make a good first impression with them but it was NOT HIS FAULT. They didn't see it that way. That still ticks me off. They're so rude to him.

I am from a country close to Tunisia so I can say this without sugar coating it, they see these men and women as less than, they think of them as lower in terms of intellect, and they think because they come from a different culture they look down on, then it must be okay to mistreat them and talk down to them, make no mistake, men like Zeid are usually bottom tier, and I don't mean it in a derogatory way, they are just more often than not complete aholes to women from their country, think looking down on them, insulting them and perceiving themselves as too good to get with a local woman kind of man, the logistics of interracial and international marriages aren't as nice when you involve someone young that wants to migrate to America.

I have always been a happy friendly person but since I considered myself not conventionally attractive I never thought I was flirting I just liked people. I use to talk to this older crowd in the building because I started work at 5am and got home early and we all hung out at the pool in summer. These people were grandparents! My ex got soooooo mad that I was friendly he considered it flirting. Im like dude thats a grandpa !! WTF. Nah..if anyone is being manipulated its Rebecca; at 50 yrs old working 2 jobs & supporting an able bodied young man she's entitled to her crabbiness, but she brought this on herself..no bigger fool than an old fool..I've seen this movie in reruns way too many times! Middle Easterns have got the art of manipulation down to a precise science! They come in like a lamb & leave like a lion! Meaning: as soon as u marry them.. game over! You now become mere property, marriage license = real estate ..I read a comment from a lady from Zied's town who said its well known as a matter of fact that the men in her country deliberately seek out older women abroad for a better life..including other parts of Europe as well.. Zied is only 27, has no responsibilities & being fully supported by Rebecca..he has to mind his p & q's right now but unless he's one in a million my expectations are low...I also knew a gay guy who was a helicopter instructor in Dubai who learned that lying is the norm over there, particularly telling ppl what they want to hear but never meaning a single word of it! simply the norm..all talk, cheap talk & never backed by actions....this was a shocking revelation for my friend, adding that even when telling the truth would not be a preferred they will always opt for the lie...Rebecca likes these men for 2 reasons; she likes to be lied to with insincere flattery & the other thing is...well let's just say its bigger then a breadbox! 🤭

Like no judgement , i understand her pain but man... if she doesnt tackle these issues and keeps pursuing such behaviour.. he will leave. Ramadan is often taken seriously even by the most relaxed Muslim. Just like all other religions, there are people who are serious about their faith only during certain holidays. Even though I'm not religious, this is something I view as normal. People from every religion pick and choose what they follow strictly. I feel like it's really only pointed out, nit picked, criticized and demonized to this extent when it's the Muslim faith. Which makes sense considering all the messaging against Muslims and middle eastern people, that we have in western countries. People don't like to acknowledge or reflect on the unconscious biases we have built based on this messaging. So they feel it's ok to be dismissive, point out that they aren't good enough for their faith or that they aren't actually this faith because they pick and choose just like every other religion.
@yoitsshortstuff3 жыл бұрын
I'm not Muslim but someone said that sinning during Ramadan is like a "double-sin" and this is a month of reflection and forgiveness I believe. I know so many people that aren't too strict but will celebrate Ramadan and they use this time to become closer with the religion and with family. I agree with what you said overall as well.

Rebecca gaslights Zied regularly - by definition. I should take a clip of her lying about what was said at the dinner, and of her telling him to stop yelling at her. Then, every freaking time I see someone on Reddit (or elsewhere) say "He's gaslighting you!" I can link to it and say "THIS, my friends is what gaslighting is." Rebecca's a piece of work. I have been in an interfaith relationship for 10 years. After the first year, we both knew how we celebrated our holidays. And once I knew I wanted to marry him, I took it upon myself to learn more about marriage in his culture. So with all this being said, I’m wondering why Rebecca is putting it on him to tell her because in my opinion that shit should have been figured out already. Everyone has a right to practice religion their own way, but in a relationship y’all have a responsibility to communicate how you do your thing. I’m honestly not bothered by him taking one holiday more seriously than another. I’m bothered by Rebecca’s mid life crisis Wendy’s cosplay.
