I don't think he ever actually disliked the Queen as a human being. He hated/hates the institution and the whole idea of a royal family, a group of people supposedly superior and meant to be looked up to and paid for by the people rather than being the people.

The Royal Family existed before her and will exist after her and represents something that some people love and some people hate but its members are still individual people behind all the pomp and circumstance and the other stuff associated with the royals. This isn't exactly the same I know but for example I despise the police and the crooked authorities but I'm sure there are good, decent people out there who are cops. I do get what you mean though and it is a little odd. Not as odd as when I saw him list Still Loving You by The Scorpions as one of his favourite songs. 😂
