Just watched the Mick Ronson documentary. What an amazing guitarist and composer. I play this now everyday for a warmup. The great thing about learning covers is that the more you play it the more you pick up on the little nuances and appreciate the piece so much more. Thanks for posting this.

Best line from the Mick Ronson video when asking about his tone he replied, "Ya plug it in, turn it up, and away you go." Brilliant.

Excellent. It might be fun to see what the acoustic guitar was doing (on the record version -- I don't know if they had acoustic live).

Don't know if watching you was a good thing or bad thing for me, I'm never gonna be able to play that good no matter how much I practice. Awesome.

Hey man i like to use the D triad up on the 7th fret with the D G and B strings barred with the hammer on on the B string for that D, for the intro etc, sure ive seen mick ronny do it before somewhere too. :)
@jamesjames92759 жыл бұрын
+joe barrow I saw a clip once of Mick doing it that way. No idea why he did, though, because it doesn't change anything to the sound, at least not that I can hear. Still, who can argue with Mick's choices?
@123joelad4569 жыл бұрын
I kinda just find you can get abit more of a slide up to it and more of a spikey sound with it. I tend to use the standard D when playing it on my acoustic and the triad on electric hahaha

Can you show us how to play my death by David on the Santa Monica album
@oldsmokie1015 жыл бұрын
In the film you referenced, I think he ran down, b g d a, not up from a ? But anyhoo this sounds equally great as all your interpretations do. Ronson 'If you turn it right up It's hard not to get a good sound' Not what my neighbours think...

Awesome!!!🔥🙌👏👏. What guitar is that? Sounds great.
@MrFrampo563 жыл бұрын
It’s a Gibson Les Paul Custom Pretty sure. You can tell by the square fingerboard inlays which include fret one. Gold hardware too. He may have modified the pick ups and other stuff, can’t tell. Yours for about 4k. :)

@@jamesjames9275 Is it? Wow! Great sound. I thought it was a Gibson LP Custom. With your highly impressive stable I assumed it would be a Gibson. I must try one. :)

Nobody seems to know how to play this song right. Mick played the D chord up on the 7th fret

We’re not into all that “I know how to play it and you don’t” stuff on this channel. If you read through the comments on this video, you’ll see that we’ve discussed this already. If you want to be constructive and respectful, stick around. If you don’t, we won’t miss you.
