Packed with practicality, technology and incredible dependability, this Hyundai formed a rock solid bond with many first time car buyers in India. Back in 1998, tech like fuel-injection, fog lamps, all-round power windows and, of course, the tallboy design were very groundbreaking for a budget car. In 2014, this trendsetter went out of production, but in 2018, it is back in an all-new guise. Very nice review karthikeya....personally I found the old santro very boring but the new Santro is great in terms of interior , sadly not d exterior . many flaws are there especially the non ac feature in base variant ( its 2018 , no ac !!!!). Nevertheless again very detailed & comprehensive review by u ...keep it up ..lastly a small request to u , plz review the 2 all time icons of our Indian automotive industry - ambassador & padmini 🙏

The best car in this price range. Bought it for 5.6 Lacs (sportz) and it's a value for money. Have used it for both city and highway drive and it gives a good mileage as per their claim. Better than Tiago, Celerio and WagonR...

This green colour of the Santro is perhaps the halo option of the range and the young crowd puller of the segment.... But why did they cut back on safety is something to really be worried about... A comparison of Celerio vs Tiago vs Santro if it is for the segment comparison... And for the tallboy comparison, how bout a wagonR vs Santro vs IGNIS vs Redigo 1.0

Hi Sir, Very nice video. Kindly make comparison video between santro and Tata Tiago. As a engineering graduate and automobiles enthusiast I have a technical query regarding ABS, that most of the budget cars in India have two front disc brakes and two rear drum brakes, ABS can only be implemented with disc brakes and not with drum brakes, so most of the budget cars below 7 lacs have two channel ABS, is it that effective to have two channel ABS. And if it a two channel ABS car then what is role of EBD in the car as EBD is effective only with four channel ABS. Kindly share your views on the same. Thanks.

Tried to find a video... Couldn't.. the idea is that EBD is a preventive system.. so even in two-channel setup - eg in a corner - it can vary brake force between the two wheels to provide greater stability. Hope that helps.

The car is a wow or not, the review was. Every minute detail possible covered as usual Kartikeya. Coming to the car, it’s only..70% wow. Over 6 lacs for the top end and yet no alloys, tilt adjust for steering, cannot close AC vents, no drivers seat height adjust. Also so glad to hear the suspension and steering are good compared to what Hyundai usually offers.

That's for locking the operation of windows.

Brand recall of santro is very strong and 19k booking even before the launch of the car is a testament to that. (It stands at 25k as of now) As a santro xing owner I was excited for this car but it is not what I was expecting, the design is nowhere cohesive as the current hyundai family design, that front grill is totally out of place and the kink on the rear door was not required and dual airbags and amt are only on the top trim. Also the cost cutting is evident as there is only cladding on the loading lip, strut tower is intruding in the boot and only covered with rubber boot, partial boot cladding, all these things were not skipped on the santro xing, so why do it in the 2018 car. May be I expected too much. Expect for those things it's is a quite practical package as a family car. The good thing is that they brought back that 1.1 litre 4-cyl epsilon engine, this one is a gem of an engine, smooth and reliable. Interior quality is good, rear ac vents are a good and practical addition, touchscreen ICE is a good addition. Anyway I hope this generation of santro picks up where the santro xing left and achieves the same success as its predecessor, the sunshine car. 😃

If you are planning to buy santro this diwali then dont book.. you will get more than 75k cash discount on Grand i10. So Santro Asta and Grand i10 Sports have same on road price but santro waiting period is now 3 month's.

Well for me.. that window line is a sore to the eye.. the sole reason for me to dislike the side proportions.. coming to that seat belt.. within a year or 2, that funky will become dirty & u will end up cleaning it every now & then & still fail..
