All of my cousins who're of my age are married. My younger sister once said that she salutes me for not having frustration over the situation. I tried to explain her my beliefs, but she said, 'Main logon ko kesy face karungi agar meri 25 sy pehly shadi nahe hui.' It was heartbreaking for me that our young girls don't understand the meaning of financial independency and there's a reason behind that. The sethiya culture who frustrates you so much that you try to find peace in depending on another person which worsens the condition of the targeted gender.
@BigBrother4Life2 жыл бұрын
Being married early has nothing to do with financial independence. Infact, these two aspects are mutually exclusive. Morever, a new research has shown that even in financially wealthy countries where money is accessible to woman such as sweden, woman still prefer a financially stable man over one with not.

Muzammil, this is my first ever comment on any youtube video in my life. Being a PhD graduated and financially independent all my life, it took more than a decade to get accepted (not whole heartedly, though) back home - its ok to not choose marriage as a first priority. Its okay to enjoy the life and your career and academic achievements and travels around the world. Still, I get asked this very personal question very often, when are you going to get married or why are you not married? I probably should start asking, why are you married :). Its a freedom and choice - desis hardly understand it and life and marriage are beyond just showing off your trophy bride or groom in an expensive event. Keep discussing social issues and taboos of our culture. Peace.
@bachoogranger Жыл бұрын
Hahaha same is the problem with me. I can understand your pain when you have to face such absurd questions. People ask this question with such emphasis that marriage is the sole important task left in the world. Being married or not is a question of choice not necessity. Stay blessed 🙋

Syed Muzzamil Shah I can't express my joy when i come across your channel. It was extremely heartening to see that people like you with such intellect and wisdom do exist in my country. With regard to the topic of this video yes expensive weddings come with a host of demerits. Firstly, they place undue financial pressure on families, often leading to indebtedness and financial instability. Secondly, they perpetuate societal norms that prioritize materialism and ostentation over meaningful relationships and values. Moreover, they exacerbate class divisions and create an unhealthy sense of competition amongst families, often leading to one-upmanship and extravagance. One last word that it should have been mentioned in your video that such expensive weddings also contribute to environmental degradation, as they generate massive amounts of waste and consume valuable resources. Keep up the good work brother 🙋💐💐

I really love your sense of humor, but honestly brother. It’s very depressing. A slave like culture. The purpose of marriage is to find companionship, love, joy and happiness. Also divorce should be fully discussed prior to the marriage. This is not about being Western, it’s about being prudent. Marriage is like an investment. You either profit or you lose. You are NOT guaranteed to win. Furthermore you may be in love today but a few years later, grow totally apart and not want to be together. It’s better to separate on good terms rather than stay and fight like cats and dogs. It’s bad for you psychologically and mentally.

I have been binge watching this guys videos for the last three days now and I'm not even a Pakistani lol. Nonetheless, I must admit that this video hits differently. Even though he presents his point sarcastically, laced with an element of dark humor. You can clearly see an existensial fatigue in his eyes. It looks like a profound angst against the seemigly unending vicious cycle of self-sobataging behaviour that the people around him engage in and he alone has the misfortune to see through this sturpidity and witness the slow and excruciatingly painful decay of all sanity around him. What's worst (or maybe best) is that despite their limitless stupidity he unflinching and unconditionally loves his people and his nation which just leaves him feeling all the more miserable at the end of the day...
